I'm very excited for the next few years to come because I personally love the zombie post apocalypse setting and what type of gameplay it can create. I pretty much had no faith in seeing a realistic zombie survival until project zomboid and day z, both which are amazing games that if combined, would probably be everything needed. That being said, your entering into a very soon to be popular game type, and I hope you can stand out and succeed. Your ideas already are very interesting and if your working with the cry engine....omg so much potential. I have so many ideas to probably name on here but it would be a very long post. I would for sure buy your game, probably more than ten bucks.

We shall see =] The issue will become over-saturation of the market. Even though there is a lot of unique ideas, there is a high chance it would simply get lost anyway. That said, I also have other projects I'm working on with other students. Mainly indie games that are moving much faster than this behemoth. This might turn into a for fun project (which means potentially just being flat out free) depending on a few things. Since we're all green in this industry (developing...we're all gamers ), there's a good chance this will take longer than a full-time development team.

I think if someone was to introduce a game similar to Day Z but also implement a lot more of realism into it. With things as simple as basic team work and absolutely having to work cooperatively with other players, I think it could become extremely popular, and actually be a fun game.

i wish day z had a class system so you could specialize in certain aspects so more people would maybe work together instead of shooting first.
