So.. My Display drivers want to keep crashing and then recovering. I've reinstalled my drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled/updated. I think my video card might be over heating as well.... is 210 degrees too hot? It happens more often the longer i play games and the hotter it gets. When I play COD and aim down my sights my FPS goes down from 120 to 15..... Fans on card are working at 100%. The other day I reininstalled and updated my drivers and cleaned my computer with dust off. the problems went away for 2 days. And now the problem is back. I am too scared to turn my computer off cause sometimes it wont turn back on. I think it might be a short in the case wiring to the power button or a problem with the power supply. I cant live without gaming. Im in severe rage mode. Please Help.

What card do you have? 210 F which is 100 C definitely seems likely to be a major part of the problem. And what program are you using to monitor temps? What cpu do you have and what are the temps on that as well?
I like to use CPUID Hardware Monitor for gpu and cpu temps, so download it and see if it gives you similar readings.

You could always just reformat the hard drive because it is possible you just have a corrupted driver that wont delete itself.

140 F seems like it is hot. It definitely seems like if it is getting to 210 F during games, that is why you are getting crashes as the card is overheating. Especially if you have the fan manually set to 100% (or is it doing that itself since it is probably trying to cool itself down with the added heat). Either way, you may need to RMA it. You could take the heat sink off yourself and try to reapply some thermal paste, but it is an involved process. What brand is your card? I hope EVGA.

My GPU used to hit 100c and then crash, just like S3XY'S. The cooling is probably a piece of junk now. Mine used to be fine for the first year 1/2, but I had to install a new heatsink 2 months ago, and I stay below 55c while gaming. Zalman makes great VGA coolers. This one is fitted for the 260/275/285, but it is pricey, so RMA would be a better choice, I would hope if it's EVGA.

Yes, what I meant was is your card an EVGA one or Asus, etc. EVGA would be the best as far as RMAing it goes, and you might even end up with a newer and faster card.
As for an aftermarket cooler, that is an option, though the stock one should not perform that horribly. I assume the thermal paste simply deteriorated which is preventing proper heat transfer to the heat sink. Thus, simply removing the heat sink, cleaning the old thermal paste off, and applying some new stuff would be the cheapest and fastest option (there are likely to be youtube videos showing you how to do this). However, RMA is the safest bet if it is still in warranty.

You can do four things.
1) Clean the cooler. Use a soft pencil for that. Also, check to see if the cooler is spinning properly and check the cooler cables. Who knows if it's a bad plugged cooler?
2)Replace your thermal grase & above. You can buy those for like 10 bucks and they last much more than you'll even use. There are lots of videos in YouTube showing the how-to.
►IMPORTANT, FOR REAL: If the thermal grease is stored in a syringe-like tool, make sure you push the piston (I'm not a native speaker, sorry if it's not the name) just a LITTLE BIT above a paper sheet or anywhere you won't do much of a mess. That's for avoiding you from having air inside the syringe, so you won't run the risk of having the silver nitratum "exploding" over your GPU with the air pressure when you apply it. Stop pushing it if the termal grease starts getting out of the syringe, then vuala!
►Make sure to see tutorials, if you apply too much, it wont work, if you apply too little, it won't work. You should apply a rice-seed-like amount of grease.
3)Replace your cooler & step 2. Of course you don't need to buy water cooling stuff (Unless you want). Just buy something that pumps a lot of air on that thing and it's solved.
4) Install one exausting cooler + One air pumping cooler in your desktop & steps above. This will not only cool the GPU, but also all the components from your PC.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you never trespass your power supply's wattage when installing new hardware. Check your current wattage levels here: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

RMA is your best bet, unless you want to try an aftermarket cooler. I just put an Artic Cooling Extreme 3 on my 580, temps dropped from 90+ under load to never passing 50 under load.
Thanks everyone! I don't think its still under warranty, ill have to check. Really appreciate all the ideas ^_^ If i decide to take it apart and add the thermal paste ill give you guys an update. I've used thermal paste before with my CPU, hate that stuff lol. Thanks everyone, if anyone wants to talk, im in vent all the time =]
