Hello,

In minecraft I keep getting this error on my girlfriends laptop:
"internal exception java.net.socketexception connection reset"

It happens like every 5 minutes, sometimes every 1 minute. By using command prompt i figures that she's losing connection for about 3 seconds what might cause the error.

I tried disableing my firewall, or downloading minecraft and java again, but that didnt work.

Can anyone help me please?:blushing::(

Did you uninstall java 1st when you reinstalled it? When you say you used cmd to figure out she is losing connection how did you figure that out? eg running a extended ping test like: ping yahoo.com -n 100

If she is dropping packets that is the most likely cause, have you tested with a 2nd computer to find out if it's the connection dropping or her computer?

In cmd i use: "ping mine.edge-gamers.com -t" or something like that.

Yes ive unisatlled java first before installing it again.

Im sitting next to her and shes the only one getting that error. Also nothing happens in my Cmd, and in her CMD you can see she loses connection for 3 seconds.

Highly likely that it's virus related then run scans if you need some programs let me know I have a lst of good ones. Is it wired or wireless connection? If it wireless the signal may be dropping. If it's wired try a different port and cord.

Its wireless, so you think it is a virus? What shall i scan her laptop with? Anti-Maleware and AVG?

TDSS, Malewarebytes, Chica, SuperAntiSpyware should get most of everything there are a couple that slip by them but you would know if you had them cause your comp would be doing other stuff.

Try wired also make sure it's not the wifi dropping out could just be the signal getting interfered with.

The wifi on her laptop might just be dropping the connection as severend said.
