Well boys, I'm back! Thanks to Chuck, Q-tip and a whole host of others who have reminded me why I liked it here int he first place I have decided to re-up with eGO after a long hiatus in the realism unit world. I hope I can help out in an way to continue the strong traditions here and lend my support to the staff and younger members.
I'm sure some members are wondering, why is he a "G"? Didn''t he just join?? So, to that end, I feel compelled to explain a little about me.
When I left eGO, I left to pursue realism at the highest levels. I joined the fabled 506th PIR realism unit and worked my way through squads, platoon and ultimately joined the brass as the 1st Sgt. of that unit. The 506th stood down as the "owners" didn't have the time, nor did they want to lose their control over the unit. A few of us broke off and joined the 9th AD. I personally stepped in and instituted a structure which put that unit on the map in the realism world. They weren't bad to begin with but when you have 12 Privates and 14 Staff Sgts....well, it just didn't make any damn sense to me. After that a lot of the old 506th guard started the 517th PIR. They are up and running and I went there for a couple of weeks but the ultimate realism thing just ain't daddy's game anymore. I just want to have fun with DODs, fun with the guys (this is just hanging out for me), and just have FUN!
I'm 43, I have a great job at an aerospace facility (Triumph Aerostructures, Grand Prairie, TX) as a Supervisor over Paint, exterior skin quality and aircraft sealants for Boeing 747-8's and 767's. I have 34 of the hardest working mothers this side of the Mississippi that work for me. I'm a dad (she's 15) and step dad (she's 11) and husband (she's HOT!) I used to be a teacher before I joined the Aerospace game. I graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Education. I also played football from 1987-1989. My body is a little broken and gaming allows me to stay "competitive". I have had the online tag of "Invictus" for over 20 years now. The poem was painted on the walls of both my high school and college weight rooms so I thought it was very appropriate! Anyways, that's just a little about me. See you guys on the servers. Peace!
