Steam begs to differ. I didn't enter but that would've been my answer. I thought the August date was the day the beta was launched, and not the actual game. Just wondering.

The question was not when did CS:S Release on Steam unfortunately. I was asking for its initial release date, which in fact was August 11, 2004.

Counter-Strike: Source was initially released as a beta to members of the Valve Cyber Caf? Program on August 11, 2004.[7][8] On August 18, 2004, the beta was released to owners of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and those who had received a Half-Life 2 voucher bundled with some ATI Radeon video cards.

Also, you chose not to participate in the questionnaire so your opinion is invalid. ;-P
