Guild Wars 2 Release

For veterans of Guild Wars this is an event 6 years in the making. As you read this, many members of eGO are on the edge of their seats sitting in the Pre-Launch Ventrilo room waiting for the servers to come online.

For those of you who intend on joining us in playing this critically acclaimed game, eGO has decided to establish a guild on the server:

If you are unfamiliar with the Guild Wars Franchise it is a fantasy-based MMORPG, spanning the mystical, but dangerous, world of Tyria. Since the Dragons were awakened they have carved a swath of destruction across the land. Update: We had a GREAT launch night. We had 25 members in the eGO guild within the first hour of the game PRE pre releasing. The game actually launched 3 hours earlier than the intended midnight PST launch time and almost ALL of our US players got it right when the servers came online.

Sorry for anyone that had trouble getting on last night after the initial launch.

How is the game? I enjoy MMOs to the max, Ive played RS for nearly 8 years. Ive played WoW since Vanilla. Ive dabbled in Knight Online, Silkroad, Rift, SWTOR, and LOTRO just to name a few. Im actually a little upset with the newest WoW expansion Mist coming out and might be looking to move on to another game. I would love to join you all in WoW but moving all my 85s to your server would be extremely expensive for me and not something Im going to do easily lol

its good and bad.
personally i dont like the game , i miss the customization that having 100 skills and the dual profession system gave.

basically half your skill bar cant even be customized. and they got rid of the enchantment system. there is only like one or two passive skills for the elemental char i tried.

in short alot of the depth and customization from guild wars 1 is sadly absent and the part of the skill bar that is customizeable is locked to some extent till after level 30 .

the event system is really cool though.

the mission system on the other hand .. i dont like. there is no obvious way to tell when a mission is above your character level and where as exploration in guild wars one was driven by the missions .... that direction is actually absent.

you can literally level out of an area by just faffing about without even realizing that there are such things a missions .

finally despite the fact that the game is so open and casual , i have yet to find a reason to join a party or even socialize.

in fact for this mmo partying is by in large wholly optional . I am level 12 and have yet to talk too anyone or feel the need to talk to anyone.

i miss the instance system and the 8 man party system
