My minecraft has memory problems Plz help.

I really like playing on the minecraft server, but every seven minutes or so my game just stops and displays a message about java running out of memory. I have no idea what's going on, so if one you guys used to have this problem or is a computer wiz could you please leave a comment to give me some idea on how to fix it? Thanks!

First of all, post computer specs.
If you don't have enough ram, there's your issue.
If you have enough ram, you might want to let java give Minecraft more ram.
Also, try optifine if you haven't already. It fixes a lot of performance issues

It happens if you run out of texture memory. The game itself isn't running out of memory but java will still throw the error. Confused yet?

Please post how much ram you have installed, what Windows version you are running, and if your OS is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Please note that if you didn't install a HD texture pack then the default 1GB allocation should be enough.

I had the same problems even with stock textures.
Firstly make sure everything is up to date.
Secondly, install optifine, it actually helps a lot.
Third is a bit more complicated...
Create a new notepad file and in it put this:
javaw -Xmx2048m -Xms2048m -jar "C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\FILE_PATH_TO_LAUNCHER\Minecraft.exe"

then save it as a "minecraft.bat" file. use this INSTEAD of the launcher. when you execute the .bat it should launch minecraft.

This should solve your problems, certainly did for me.

(ps: be careful doing this sorta stuff. google it and watch a few videos just to confirm I got it right)

The issue is that you either have a corrupted java/something messed up with java.

Just download java 64 bit and 32 bit. You should be fine.

That isn't the issue though.

However, you may be able to improve your performance by getting the latest java 7, which has an improved garbage collector over java 6 (if you have java 6).
