osu! is a completely free rhythm game in which you play levels called "beatmaps" which contain hit circles, sliders and spinners. Your objective is to hit as many objects as you can without missing, in return you build up your multiplier and increase your score to compete with other players on leaderboards.

The game also offers a variety of multiplayer features such as: co-op, spectating, IRC styled chat, achievements and rank progression.

There are tens of thousands of beatmaps available for download, offering a big range of genres.

Now I feel the need to ask since ive never played a true Japanese game before. When I say true Japanese game, I mean that its all Japanese language/symbols & is un-edited for American/foreign audiences. Do you start out with a select amount of songs & can you choose based on genre (if thats even possible since I dont know the Japanese language)? Also please forgive me since I dont know anything about this game other than what you guys have posted & talked about. I will check out the site later on (must get laundry started tho first). It does look a lil interesting & seeing as how its free, def cant pass up a free rhythm game.

Come to think of it, I think this is the 1st free rhythm based game ive ever heard bout.

First off the game is actually in english.
You start out with 2 songs. The training and a hatsune miku song.
You download the other songs from the website and I believe can filter by genre.

If you can find my in-game name for, osu!, you have the prize of getting to add me to my friends list. hooray. Also, this is very common sense. Who else would have my name?

P.s. - I will be uploading my real-time plays of boring streaming practice and maybe even some helpful information to get your osu! career a start. I've retired from hardcore play and only play for entertainment now, but I'm sure some of you will enjoy my osu! plays from a while back.

Golly, this sounds a fan tab u lus game Mr. spidEY, i should give it a whirl

I played it for an hour, and here is my verdict on osu!

I enjoyed it. Not what I'd kill time with at work, as I need a mouse. But it is definitely fun. I prefer stepmania over osu! but I will return to it from time to time.

fun to play when im at school lounging around doing nothing. i can actually play with eGO members at school, so if im on early in the morning and you are too! let's play! xD

So, anyone get any good beatmaps recently or any beatmaps you are having trouble beating? For me, Desire Drive hard is a pain. Very end of the song always gets me :facewall:
