After playing AK for a while this afternoon, I wanted to make a post giving my thoughts on the new TDs. I haven't played much mobile arty, I've been trying to stick with the TDs.

First off, the American M1128:

The M1128 was a bit disappointing, to be honest. The gun depression makes it impossible to defend from the driver's seat, and its wheels instead of tracks severely inhibit any quick turns in tight spots.

Next up, the SPRUT-SD:

Despite what I was anticipating, the SPRUT-SD has impressed me every step of the way. While the M1128 is very clunky and frankly a pain to drive, the SPRUT's tracks allow for quick turns and getaways. The SPRUT also has a lower gun depression, making it ideal for sniping down into the tops of enemy vehicles, and for defending

Both TDs come with 14 unlocks, with 2 unlocks coming as completion bonuses from assignments. After only 1h 48m in the TDs, I've already worked up to unlock 9/11, with the ninth not yet completed. The assignments required to unlock the additional gear are fairly easy, so if you want the TOW and HE Shell, you don't have to put too much effort in.

That's about it. What do you guys think of the new TDs, Gunship, Quad Bikes, and Mobile Arties?

Edit: Got my first TD service star about 20 minutes ago, woo

I'm not entirely sure what it is but it seems in every AK map, who ever gets in a tank (AA, TD, MBT etc) suddenly gains omnipotent powers. I could be behind a ridge across any map and suddenly I have a TD bearing down on me out of no where and whenever I've tried jihad ATV the tank instantly swivels to where I am and blows me away. But what I've gathered from them is if you're alone, you're gonna die but if its 2 or more TD's then you'll be fine.

Both TD’s have their advantages and disadvantages. As both are basically modded versions of the LAV and BMP, the specifications remain the same.

The American TD is faster and therefore tougher to hit for a novice driver, it also have better acceleration and is fairly accurate. Its speed is its biggest advantage.

The Russian TD can turn on a coin, and has a lower build which is ideal for ambushes and can be tougher to hit for a novice driver.

For the disadvantages, the American TD is tougher to maneuver for less experienced driver, though I did not have any issues with it as I am already quite used to the American LAV. Its also higher therefore an easier target.

The American TD can turn better but is slower and has a tendency to make those crazy turns we see on the T-90.

Altogether the TD’s are great, they are very strong against tanks but only when they have an element of surprise and are at range. I think DICE has done a good job here.

the sprut also has the cq td advantage its shape alows ramming either fliping the enemy or getting a few rounds to the bottom of the tank. after 10 service stars the sprut sd has alot of advantages, but the m1128 has a speed factor wich can dominate other vechiles with ease

sprut=massive battering ram, m1128= driving circles around you enemy and killing he or she (funnier when he cant land a clean shot on you)

I totally think in AK those TD's are heavily overpowered. I get whacked once boom dead ... They are fast yes but they can also take a lot of hits . A lower hit point rate would be better since they fast and overpowered already why giving em the armor of a tank ? doesn't really like AK anyways .. lol

I've completely fallen in love with the M1128. I prefer the wheels over tracks because tracks get stuck WAY too easily. Wheels grip LITERALLY EVERYTHING, there isn't a power in the verse that can stop a M1128 when it wants to go. Plus it looks like it's straight out of Halo, it's what you get when you breed a Scorpion tank with an LAV.

I actually haven't had a problem with gun depression, I find I have a much worse time in tanks; both TD's seem to have better gun depression then their tank counterparts, which is good enough for me.

That being said I do like the Sprut because it's really short so it hides very easily, if anything the M1128 is just a bit gawky. But I still love it...

One of the main reasons I don't tank very much is they were always a bit slow and awkward to maneuver. When I'm in a TD I just don't get that feeling, I love them

My only question is in regards to the HE shells. I figured they would be more effective against infantry, but even then I still have issues killing infantry. Maybe i'm confused here or just a noob. Also I don't like them cause in the heat of the battle I tend to forget whether I have HE or AP on. Lastly, I feel TD's should not have the LMG as an option because they are meant as tank destroyers not infantry destroyers. Any opinions on that?

no they are not OP

no, no there not

oh yeah they are ... i think for someone who can dish out that amount of damage to kill a tank it shouldn't be armored heavy like a tank while it can jump hills and be fast like that .. yes they are OP :D :chair:

not bad (carried the team on my back this round... so many hackusations)

Lol ik what you mean i have been banned a couple times while playing as tank destroyer cause no one else knows how to play so 1 person who learns the simple concepts gets banned

They aren't as heavily armored as a tank though. They take equal damage from all sides :P
