Ok im having a problem with borderlands 2.
i have a 5850 OCd to 950/1200 stable 24/7 at max temp of 62c, my CPU is now phenom II x4 965 OCd to 4ghz running max 40c under full load etc etc.
i load the game up for the first time, i pump everything up to full settings. everything is looking great, its playing great. i get fps drops in obviously extremely open areas and such which is expected.
i have 2 friends join me, we're battlin it out. we are fighting in a big open area lots of enemies but so many levels, details, etc, my frames are freakin 6 MAX. i swear having ppl connect to you is soooo stressful on your machine.
anyway i turn all my settings down, im running flawlessly again through our co-op.
get up this morning and i want to play with full settings again since i don't have the added stress on my machine by hosting, i want to see all the goodies so i turn everything up, load up the game.
while monitoring the gpu usage, when im in the menu my GPU is 98%, as it should be, but when im playing the game im getting low frames, like 15-25 and my GPU is only running bout 30-35%. my first thought is CPU bottleneck, but by no means should this CPU be bottlenecking, and upon checking my CPU is average through all cores 60% total load (not borderlands specific).
even if i turn down all my settings etc, my GPU will only be running bout 35% usage on average, and i have no idea why. how do i tell my GPU to run at full power? lol
OK...AS IM TYPING THIS. i go back into the game, turn everything up, and its running at bout 75% (this is because i have frames capped) i uncap the frames and vsync and its running at its 97-98% (what it should always run at, if it needs to)
ok...so it should only have lower than 98% IF you have frames capped, this is obvious, but i still don't understand why its so picky to when it wants to play well or not......does it have something to do with physx maybe? cause right now everything is max except physx is low
