I first started playing DoD when it was in 1.3 back in like 2001/2. I instantly fell in love with the K98's instant kill (however unbalanced the game was at that point).

In high school, a friend of mine bought an M48. After seeing what it was really like to shoot one of these, I knew I had to have one for myself. Fast forward, I now own a Mauser M48 Yugoslavian. It's kind of nice having a real life counter-part to my favorite rifle. And now it's my favorite real-life rifle as well!

The only difference between the German K98k and the Yugoslavian M48 is that the M48 was made post WWII and is only slightly shorter than the original K98. The German weapons factories were heavily bombed by Allied raids, yet the Yugoslavian factories were preserved and able to keep producing high quality weapons. The M48's were produced should Germany reinitiate hostilities. But fortunately, that never happened, and I've got a perfect condition military new M48! =D

I've also got a Mossberg 500 Cruiser 12-gauge model for home protection.

Mine is very similar to this, only I've got a wooden foregrip in addition to the synthetic one that came with it, and a matching wooden buttstock in addition to the synthetic pistol grip that game with it. With the full buttstock, it's a mean shorty! And even meaner without! =D

This summer I will be making more purchases. Next on the list is the M63 "Tanker" Mauser. Basically same as the M48, only cut down, and I'll have mine chambered in .308 Win/7.62 NATO because ammo's cheaper than that 8mm the M48 eats up!

The only thing I shoot at is targets. Those are all much to powerful for me. When I used to hunt deer I had a really nice Remington 270, but I got tired of all the hassle it takes to put together a good hunting trip. I gave it to my older brother so he could get some use out of it.
