this is the mess i got bout it
I am pleased to announce that our "V for VICTORY DOD:RELOADED" TEAM of Mappers, Coders, Modders and writers are enthusiastically working to create the next generation "Day of Defeat" by incorporating the best of DOD 1.3 and DOD Source, while adding some new and unique features. Our objective is to bring the great DOD communities together in a game that all will enjoy for many years to come. OUR MISSION Our Mission is to incorporate the best features of the DOD platforms (1.3 and Source) into a new, exciting and improved game that will revitalize the existing communities and bring new gamers to the fold. OUR GOALS -to improve on and reintroduce the British class and many of the old 1.3 weapons. -to develop a new "MEDIC" and "MORTAR" class. -to retain the best of the game play from DODS and add improvements. -to package and release the new game with custom high definition maps, models and skins for a great gaming visual effect.

One day we will see a new version come about, but not now, not now.
 
About a year ago i came across that, got excited, then saw the last time they updated it, and lost hope.
 
Hey now all you people who say this is not going to happen due to its not being updated in a while: Think of Black Mesa. I'm pretty sure they dropped it and didn't update it for a while a couple of times. But they finished it. This gives me hope that someone will finish this. Then we shall be happy. And you will all quit being negative nancies
 
An update would of been really cool, as long as the update is an improvement in game play. Sometimes you never know with these kinda things.
 
There is not going to be a new DOD game. DOD is an extremely unpopular game. Even when DOD first game out as a source game it was never popular. It never was popular because game is very brutal and old skooL compared to other first person shooters out there. Why would someone want to frustrate themselves for weeks trying to get one kill in DOD when they can have a pleasant experience in TF2? DOD has a very high learning curve mixed together with a lot of brutality, people are not into skilled games, so they look for watered down shooter games.

If you want to get more people to play DOD there is only one thing that can be done at this point. It is to request Valve to make DOD free. That way it becomes a free avaliable game on Steam to download. Some people will pick it up and like it thereby joining the DOD community. I really hope Valve does the right thing here.
 
If anyone thinks they are still here for the game they are fooling themselves. Everyone still here stayed because of the members/friends.

Cronus, this whole CSS is better than DoDS thing has been discussed. A fine panel of voters (Me) have come up with the standings of where every single game stands on a scale of CSS to Good Games, and here it is.
