Populating Anzio

Anzio is my favorite map. The eGO community is kind enough to provide an anzio server. But I noticed it usually gets filled up during primetime, say at 7:00 or 8:00 pm. It is loads of fun when people start showing up. The other eGO servers: avalanche, donner, and strand, are usually full all day long. Avalanche is 32/32 at every possible second. Strand and donner have low points but in general you can find action there.

It would be nice to see anzio be such a server also. There used to be an anzio server (community got in trouble for using fake-clients and Valve punished them so they are no longer existant) that had action on it basically all day long. The main issue is filling up a server. Once people start showing up you gradually see more people come play.

I can help you fill such a server for day play also. I have made a steam list of over 100 people who play anzio. Once you start such a server rolling I can then send out personal invitations to people to join.

We, as a whole, try to fill it up regularly! We try our best, but we can't force everyone to join and help us fill it. Unfortunately, the general public prefer Avalanche and Donner to Anzio. :/

It still gets a decent amount, but I haven't ever seen it completely filled up.

I was getting it started yesterday around 5:30, but I know that a lot of those that play on Anzio also have jobs so it will fill up around the times you stated. Anybody can get it started at anytime, once you get a handful of people in there then the rest will come. We will have to rely on our European players to get it started midday since most of us Americans are at work still.

Just attempted to fill Anzio again, got up to about 10 players then everyone started slowly leaving.. We just need to keep getting on there and getting the server known! There's no reason for it not to be like Avalanche, I think it's a better map!

I seem to find this hard to imagine. Last night for even instance anzio was full for a long period of time and it was hard to get into.

More competitive players prefer Anzio since its FF and offers a greater challenge so it has a different kind of people than your average campers.

But like its been said you can fill the server when ever you would like to do so. In fact feel free to PM or talk to on ventrillo any leadership member or rangers leader to post an announcement to fill the server.

I mostly played Donner and Avalanche simply because they usually have players there and once you get good at a map, you start running thru it at work, or in the shower... addicting. Since joining the Rangers, I have been spending most of my time in Kalt or Anzio, and im starting to get that way with those maps too.

We have global admin chat messages to try to help with filling servers, and I have been using that option recently.

I believe it will take a little time to get it to where donner is- a long time for Ava status, but its going to be gradual. I will spend time there everyday for my part, and I usually have 3 or 4 peeps in my list that I can pull with me. GO ANZIO!!
