I've been learning Japanese writing and grammar for a few months now. If I don't know the kanji for a certain word I just look it up through phonetics on jisho.org. Writing on the Japanese keyboard isn't hard at all once you figure it out and learn the shortcuts for switching between hiragana/katakana.

Google Translate is really bad at translating English to Japanese.

Meh. I find anime, as a genre, doesn't really interest me. There are a few AWESOME anime that I love (Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Darker than Black, Cowboy Bebop) but by and large I despise most of the anime I consider to be stereotypical of the genre. I like anime that are kind of bizarre, such as FMA and DtB, and artsy ones like Hayao Miyazaki's films.
