Need help downgrading Android. Appreciated

Hey guys, New guy of a couple weeks here. Im having issues with downgrading my android operating system from 2.3.4 to 2.3.3 so i can root it, for various reasons. Now heres where its important to understand that im having trouble because of windows, not my phone. I downloaded android SDK so that I could put the rooting software and 2.3.3 into the directory, but the problem is I cant find the directory. The directory is supposed to be C:<user>:appdata:_____ , but when i go to my user files, appdata is not there, nor is it anywhere when I search for it. This is my problem. If i can find appdata, then I know what Im doing besides that.
PS. Dont post saying "google it" or anything stupid like that. Of course ive been on google and youtube for a couple days now. Appreciated once again!

You'll need to flash it, but all Android phones are different. What phone are you using?

Most custom ROMs come in rooted, so I recommend you flash your phone to the latest releases for your phone.

HTC incredible 2, keep Inmindd its an issue with appdata on my pc, not my phone

It's probably a hidden file, in the navigation bar try manually typing it in, it should take you to the folder.

Alternatively if you're on Win 8 you can select to hidden files and folders, not sure if you can on Win7 but the first method has always worked for me.

Also... I found out the answer by googling it, I don't know how did you didn't manage to

If you need to go to your app data folder, open explorer and type the address in manually. You can alternately change your explorer settings to show hidden folders.

Check out XDA-Developers and AndroidForums. They seem to be relatively reliable. You should find guides, lists of roms and other guff on those 2 websites.
