=============================

This Week's Mission:

This week we're going high-tech and most likely silent as a snow-filled night on the prairie-- whatever the hell that means. In any case, get your fignuts on and expect to kill a variety of tangos using your favorite modern weapons in the standard Operation Arrowhead game mode. Sierra Foxtrot (SF, Special Forces) is the name of the game and that means hitting hard, fast, and silently.

*Update* The event this week will be held at 10:00 PM Eastern. Times are likely to change until we can find a nice comfy time slot.

What the heck is Casual War Day?

At some workplaces casual attire is allowed on certain days to take away from the banality and monotony of the average man's unfulfilling yet desperately needed job. As per Op: X' unwritten and often randomly made up rules; Saturday is the day you can unbutton your custom tailored suit, unwind your double Windsor knotted Italian silk tie, and shoot freedom hating [people] in Arma II.

You're probably thinking "Who wouldn't buy Italian silk ties?" or maybe "Where's the 'casual' part come into play?" Well, it's simple-- we shoot anything that moves, hates freedom, or is within our maximum range in any (5ish) Arma II game modes. To add some professionalism to our Casual War Day business attire is mandatory but the game modes we play and the mods we play are more relaxed-- by that I mean we'll do what we want for your benefit and with your input.

Aside from Arma II (we'll just call it Combined Ops or CO), Operation Arrowhead (OA), and Day-Z, our diehard Arma fanatics have been trying out two new mods for CO/OA: Invasion '44 (I44) and Vietnam the Experience (VTE). I'm sure there are a bunch of other mods and junk we can try out but in the near future expect to see gameplay of CO, OA, I44, and VTE.

Basic Installation Instructions

Detailed instructions will be coming soon. For now, if you use Six Updater create a new Preset, right click on the preset and rename it, make sure to select "A2 OA Combined Ops (Forced)" in the dropdown for the selected preset, and in the Mods tab filter for @I44, then right click @I44 and select "Install or Update Mods and Process BIKeys". Repeat the same procedure (including making a new preset) for VTE by substituting @I44 with @VTE. To launch the mod, the addition of a Steam launch option is required (Below). Right click on Arma II, go to properties, then Launch options.

I44: -mod=@I44;@CBA;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A2

VTE: -mod=@VTE;@CBA;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A2

If you don't use Steam-- you're out of luck in this post, but I'm sure some knowledgeable Op: X members who know this stuff and who don't go by the name "Stormy" will be able to help.

P.S. The time for this event will be augmented again and again. I doubt anyone bothers to read all the way to the bottom; blah, blah, blah.

TL;DR Operation Arrowhead at 10:00 PM Eastern. Kill stuff in Special Forces missions with your favorite modern weapons, no additional mods required.

We, had a great showing last week. Lets see if we can top it. That's my challenge to all of you.

Since its most likely going to be silent, I'm assuming a night op. Which are extremely fun. Hope to see all of you there

I'm pretty busy this weekend, but I will try to be there. Sound like it will be fun, hope to see you guys there!

Sorry about the time, we still need to find a sweet spot where the EC's can show up. Any recommendations for time/day are more than welcome.

On another note, we will be recording this session so be on your best behavior!

We're still playing around with the times. Trying to find a suitable time for everyone. In the case of mods we have to make sure its a time Yeti or someone with access to changing the server can attend. In this case I guess its not as essential. As it says at the top it's subject to change.

Alrighty, I made a deal with my boss, and after negotiations and payment of massages I have permission to play tomorrow night :D

So count me in!
