So people are tied on whether or not bombs and bombsites are needed in Jail. Therefore, I write this poll to see what those who play Jail think of the situation.

If you plan on voting in this poll, it is set to see who votes what. In which case to see why you voted the way you did, Id EXTREMELY appreciate if you explained your reasoning in a two sentence post rather than just voting.

Explanation of the choices:

  • Yes - Keep as is
There's no need for change. People should just rebel more.

    [*]Yes - With rules
Allow it but with restrictions such as:
    - Must give your team a 30 second or longer notice before planting
    - Can not be planted before 6:00 on bomb maps
    - Those not rebelling shouldn't be shot if they get to the nearest wall and stay there so the CTs can move towards the bomb to defuse
    - CT's should prioritize defusing the bomb over shooting innocent Ts (goes with above I guess)
    - And/Or Some other Rule that you can explain in your post.

    [*]Yes - Other reasoning's

Please explain your reasoning's to this answer.

  • [*]No - How did they get C4 in a prison?

Maybe they snuck it in through a cake!. Seriously, does it really make sense they have a bomb in a prison? (To be fair there's guns and knives too)

[*]No - Rebelling is enough and the CTs don't care about defusing the bomb

Prisoners can already rebel and escape so a bomb isn't needed plus the guards never care about defusing it most of the time

    [*]No - Other reasoning's

Please explain your reasoning's to this answer.

PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR REASONING BEHIND YOUR VOTE

Correct explanations:

I voted for Yes but with rules because its fine but sometimes the bomber doesn't tell us to allow us to rebel. I don't mind having a bomb but would appreciate to get past the cell block and a notice of when its going to be planted.

I chose no, rebelling is enough because well it is and a bomb doesn't give others a chance to rebel if they're not in a good spot to rebel. In addition, CTs just like to shoot us because they're mean and don't want us to have fun in jail or a chance to rebel.

Yes, but keep it as it is due to the fact I don't mind it hence my choice. I love to rebel so it doesn't bother me.

Incorrect explanations:

No because I hate bombs

Yes, I dont care

no because i love to sit in cell block!

I voted for the following answers:

No - How did they get C4 in a prison?

No - Rebelling is enough and the CTs don't care about defusing the bomb

In addition to their current explanations, The 2nd one is pretty much truth in and of itself, where-as the 1st one...it's one thing to sneak in a gun or a shiv/knife, but a bomb? umm...right.

My self, I think there are some rules needed because I really hate it when someone doesn't tell me when they're going to plant so I can plan my escape or attack before then. But they do add a objective other than killing.

Voted for the second. I never liked how everyone is a target when the bomb is planted, and the other stuff are nice ideas, even if they will be hard to enforce.

I voted Yes, but add some rules. I like the idea of adding rules because it also annoys me when people plant it and give no warnings so everyone who didn't get a chance to rebel yet just gets sprayed.

I voted yes with the above possible rule additions in my mind, as they were mine to suggest. When a bomb is planted, it should go into some type of pseudo lockdown as opposed to all Ts being declared wanted. Rather than all non rebelling Ts getting instantly mowed down, I think they should have a small grace period to get against a wall or something that's out of the way so CTs have clear passage to the bomb site. As a CT, I've always prioritized bomb defusal and only killed those Ts who were running around in my way, as they're a possibly threat. This way, rather than force Ts to play as a team, there won't be much of a noticable penalty against those on his team who got the short end of the stick. If he wants to work with his team to try and get them rebelling first, then that would be ideal, but I don't think its something that should be forced, but rather, the impact on his team caused by his lone wolf style should be minimized.

I don't know many reasons why someone would dislike bomb planting, but I was able to convince myself of 2. 1 being that they dislike getting mowed down whenever a bomb is planted, which is basically being punished for the actions of others. The other reason, would just be because it guarantees the round to end early if planted. The second I don't think is the real culprit as people usually don't get up in arms when someone rebels and completely devastates the ct team in the first 10 seconds. While not exactly the same thing, in both regards the round is cut short. So I would think it has more to do with the former reason, though if someone feels differently they can feel free to correct me.

This may seem a bit stupid but I accidentally voted No but I meant to vote Yes - but add some rules.

I'm really liking the sounds of all of the rules stated and think it could make bomb planting much more bearable.

Like restricting planting the bomb before a certain time sounds great and could give T's plenty of time to rebel and be ready for the planting.

I'm not a huge fan of bomb sites, personally. I hate being in cells or stuck in cellblock when the bomb is planted and then just getting massacred by CT's who are going crazy trying to win the round/kill us all/defuse the bomb. I'd rather rebel the old fashioned way or try and get LR than be wanted for something I didn't do.

Bomb sites are nice when used properly.

In our instances, most Guards just send Prisoners to the bombsite/near the bombsite with hopes they'll plant it. I forgot which map it was, but I know the Warden kept sending us to the pool over and over and over because it was a bombsite.

Prisoners don't work as a team, we can't really use a bombsite efficiently. Someone will plant the bomb when we're not ready and not guard the bombsite, allowing the Guards to massacre us all with ease.

If we had teamwork, hell yeah bombsites would be the business..But, until that point..I don't really see any use for bombsites except for giving the Guards reason to blow Prisoners all to hell.

I voted yes, people need to rebel more!!!!

I like the bomb for both T and CT sides. If you are one of the last T's who manages to escape with the bomb, you might find yourself in armory first before having an all out battle with the Ct's at trying to defend the bomb site. Who doesn't like 1v5+ and win?

When I am a CT and you hear those magic words "The bomb has been planted" its like music to my ears. Its that onetime where you can mow everyone down and not be a free killer. I mean who hasn't looked at the nice stack or line and not wanted to kill/battle it out with them? Waiting for a mass jail break to happen. Like come on people REBEL MORE!!!!

Our jails aren't the most watchful, clearly with the changing of our guards, the constant escapes that result usually in a blood bath, and how about the weapons in the cells? If they can get in other explosives such as a grenade I think it is perfectly reasonable for one of the prisoners to have smuggled in a bomb. If you were locked up wouldn't you try to escape by any means necessary?

I voted no based on the numerous times I just come out of my cell and am wanted already. Sure, adding rules might help out in some of that, but Jail has enough rules already and isnt going to help us attract any new players. We are going to have new people come in to the server, get a bomb and plant not knowing otherwise. I would rather it be up to the T's to rebel (kill the CT's) and win a round other than just one random person getting a bomb and planting it while I may be following orders and then instantly end up dead.

I like the way it is because a lot of times wardens are overbearing and strict (especially in maps with bombs), and I like being able to screw them over in that scenario.

There's a few topics i'd like to address, because i'm split on the issue, but my views in short
1) one bomb site per map
2) the bomb site should be somewhere really embarrassing for guards to NOT be able to defuse it. EX: armory
3) The bomb should never become the main objective of the map; T's should not be able to pick it up in cell block. Prospekt does a good job of this.
(I have more but need to go to school. Will edit with more later)

Is there some way to code in a longer plant time and a private message to T's that the bomb is being planted? Maybe a 15 second warning or something?

It's fine the way it is.

reason? because it adds "spice" to the jail maps, basically if bomb is planted, all hell breaks loose, and T's RUN FOR THE HILLS. who cares if all the T's are massacred if the round ends in like 2 to 3 min because of it? There's no problem with it, and having people type out that they're gonna plant the bomb for a 30 second warning is hard to enforce, and most people will not know/do it.

I Voted Yes With Rules Because I Love CT (Warden)... N Don't Want To Kill A Lot Of T's Once Its Planted... Thats Why I Give Fast Order On The Maps Like Alcatraz Unlink Some Warden Who Keeps Them In Cell Block 2 Long =[

You Can Also Give A Bind... sv_teamchat c "say PlantingBomb" or W/e The Teamchat Command Is.. Didnt Search It Up :P

I voted No, but personally I do not really care. I think it is a waste of time to have the c4 in the maps. And why would you add rules? That makes it harder on admins to have to make sure people are planting the bomb the "correct" way? Unless there is something you can do on the map to add such rules, I just say get rid of it. All I usually see is CTs waiting for the bomb to be planted just so they can kill them and get the huge eGO up for having a nice K/D. But yeah get rid of it.

Voted no rebelling is enough because ain't no body got time for that. I mostly wanted to express my distaste for the option yes but with rules because my god don't we have enough rules for jail as it is without adding a new set for something so specific that we have to memorize and explain every time someone unfamiliar with them gets the bomb/every time a CT unfamiliar with them starts shooting T's when its planted etc.

Voted yes but add some rules.

Mainly lock bombsites until 6:00, and give your team some warning maybe 30 seconds in advance. That is more than enough time to plan to run.
