Phone techies need help with my GS3

So for a while now my computer wont read my Samsung galaxy s3 it chargers it
but it wont show up though but when i tryed it with my friends computer it didnt work but before when i had vista it worked but when i upgraded to windows 7 it hasnt been working so any help will be great oh by the way in the top lefted of my phone it had a LED light it shines blue when i have a message does anyone know if i could change it to red?

From what I understand, you are wanting the phone to be mounted as a disk drive on your computer, so that you can upload music and such?

After you plug in the phone to your computer, on the phone, a box should pop up that allows you to choose the connection type. You want to choose the disk drive option.
