Agree with RAWRCOON. I'll be getting it, and the next one, and the next one, etc...

It's find it funny how people bash on CoD when you look at other games. Madden (all sport games, Final fantasy, Assassins Creed, Need for Speed, Command & Conquer, WoW with all of its expansions, Halo, Pokemon, Sims, Resident Evil, Teken, Metal Gear Solid, and probably many more. These games have multiple iterations and they usually are pretty similar to the last. Yet they don't really get bashed all that much with the exception of WoW. The only reason why CoD gets bashed because of the success and how many new gamers it has introduced. The battlefield has thickened with newer, lesser skilled players. Meaning all the older players, and self proclaimed "skilled" players get all mad.
Blops II will be using a modified IW 3.0 engine, which originated with CoD4. MW2 is IW 4.0 and MW3 is "MW3" or IW 5.0 which guess what.. based off of IW 3.0. So yes they very much will feel like their predecessors, but have you asked why they've done that? So they don't loose their player base by recreating a new engine, making it feel completely different, thus creating a new learning curve. Gamers do want change, but they want consistency too. They have the right formula as far as how it feels, all they really need to do is make it look better. Then again, why make it look much better than what it already is when not EVERYONE has awesome computers, so they're marketing it for the lower tier computers as well, which equal more $$. Take a look at your Source games. They very much feel similar. They at least all share similar aspects, the graphical differences between them aren't drastic, yet they sell like hot cakes.
Just my 2 cents..

Celtic, you wrinkled my brain. To be honest, I never thought like that about Halo. YOU RUINED IT FOR ME! Haha, the creators of Call of Duty know what they're doing. They know how to reach their market and how to expand it too, of course. Although the graphic difference are noticable, I don't really think the differences are that big between MW2 and MW3 ( graphic wise ) if you look at the players. The environment however, has become way more detailed and indeed, not everybody can run it ( me for example ). My PC is horrible. It can barely run Counter Strike : Global Offensive, yes.. go a head and laugh.
I guess, people ( including me ) are becoming a bit... Anti Call of Duty? I guess I could put more thought into it. Call of Duty is probably one of the best.. sorry.. it is the best shooter out there ( judging by how many people have bought the latest CoD). It also has so many fans..
You spoke about WoW, but I don't think people really bash WoW because most of the players ( up to .. 15 million? Or more?) are addicted to it and the more new areas to level, new dungeons, raids, battlegrounds and of course, the increased cap, is the only thing that matters to a die-hard WoW player. Mainly because it's still the same character, that's another story when you look at CoD. You have to start all over again, and eventually it gets bored after a prestige or two. At least, that's my opinion about it. BUT I've got to say, during those two, three, four or even five prestiges I have the time of my life haha. Until I get sick of it and indeed, bash CoD.
Haha I'm an old Halo player myself, many hours into Halo PC and Custom Edition. Really the only Halo that felt.. weird was Halo 3, you ran super slow..
They haven't made the game look better, with time and technology that's just the progressive way. That being said, if you take marketing into consideration, you have to kind of curve it. So even though we have the technology to make every game look like Crysis.. not everyone can run it. Just for visuals sake, they put technology and todays avg. gamers computer on a line graph. Put a curved line on there. They find the area on the graph where they'd have the most people playing and aim for that graphical setting, in a sense. Though they have some people who may not be able to run the game, it might push those people to buy new gear which in the long run would slowly push what todays avg game looks like, if you think about it. Then the people who have much better computers can brag about 250fps at max! Woot!
WoW does get bashed, as a game itself. It's a 8 year old game, which hasn't had that many graphical updates, pretty much it just has smoother edges and better textures, but the models are still simple. Now that does allow for the bagillion players to play on w/e the have yes, and it does allow Blizzard to focus on content not graphics and such; but they really need to make it better looking.. I have GW2 and it looks awesome. Heck.. Age of Conan still looks better than WoW.. It doesn't get bashed for it's content, other than the Kung-Fu panda thing.. but it does get bashed for its graphics, and age etc. Honestly WoW does need to move on..
Back on subject though.. I think the next CoD will be a make, for both Console and PC, but especially for console. Unless there isn't server support, I have a feeling that this is going to be the CoD that should have happened after WaW.. But we'll see.
hopefully it dosent brake and dosent do what they ussaly do in other cod games... the new medal honnor single player was very narrow and bottle neck and if you got punished if you didnt do what you got told to do.
Haha Killer4000, I take it you're not a big FPS fan? I've only seen you bashing the entire thread so far.
