NFS: Hot Pursuit

Sorry, but im gonna wait til possibly next year if not the year after that to play it. EA doesnt need my $$ immediately.

Waste of space game, the graphics and driving mechanics aren't bad at all but the single player..... 6 hours of playtime and finished, with over half that time just driving to and from event starts....

I know this game is focused on the multiplayer "social" side but 3 hours tops of single player racing/pursuits to complete it is just pathetic..... and with the multiplayer aspect, I really don't see anything better then what Need for Speed World offers which is a F2P game...

Sorry for the negativity but with all the hype and such on this game it definitely did not deliver.

While I see where you're coming from, I disagree.

I will say that singleplayer on the more recent NFS games has been lackluster, specifically with the introduction of Autolog. To get more out of the game, it kind of forces you to find friends who play the game or add people.

However, Criterion games made up for the disaster which was The Run in my book.

im sorry, but if what both of you are saying is true bout the game, then indeed, my previous statement will stand. i mean theres previous version of nfs series games that last longer w/o all the "flashy" hype & all that junk that they put in there to make people wanna go out & buy the product. i hate to bring this in, but same goes with MoH & CoD & BF series.

wasnt there something bout the remake of hot pursuit that made it worth it? im sure the games coming up on 1 year being out on the market, but i cant remember anymore. besides im already behind by like 3-4 games. still wanna get diablo 3.

Is it just as bad as when it was released or has it gotten worse? I heard bout all the bugs when it came out. I figured they wouldve taken care of that by now.

I regret buying Diablo III. It made me realize that what I really wanted all along was more Diablo II, and it just doesn't deliver. If you are really looking for a game along this genre to enjoy I highly recommend Torchlight II. That game DELIVERED.

Back on topic: Earlier this year I bought Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, being a huge fan of that original game back on the PS2. As far as NFS goes it is everything I need. I love police chases. I probably won't get this newer one, it always seems to me like there are 2-3 coming out every year though so I rarely keep up to date on it.

I picked up NFS: Most Wanted for PC yesterday, and it's kind of a mess.

It's a horribly optimized port, for one. I've got a 7950 3GB, a hex-core AMD 1090t, 8GB of ram, and 20-30fps is common whereas a stable 60fps was only achieved once at the very beginning of the game. I'm talking putting everything on low and turning off shadows completely, and I'm lucky to stick around 50fps for any extended time.

From what I've been reading online, it appears that the better/newer the card, the larger the performance hit, so it doesn't appear to play as nice with upgraded architectures possibly. Will be waiting on the patches/drivers before I dip back in.

It's still a fun game despite the sluggishness, especially (and maybe only) online, but on PC they don't even have the ability to make Friends unlocked yet, so it's leaving a bit to be desired overall. I'm sure it will be great in a month or two.

I'll probably be picking it up on PS3 while I wait for the PC version to get fixed, heard that the 360 version is also experiencing FPS issues.
