Storage Situation [Raid 0, SSDs, Etc]

I have been looking to increase my storage room for a long time. I am finding that 128GB is just not enough for all of the games I wish to have installed with enough breathing room of space left over. I have two options space wise:

1. I could purchase another copy of the same drive I currently have (Adata S510 series SSD) and run the two in Raid 0.

2. I could purchase a whole new SSD all together. Right now, Newegg has a deal on a model of the Crucial M4, 80 dollars off!

I would simply like to know which of these solutions would provide the best speed possible at 240+ gb of space.
 
Also, not sure if this says anything, but I just benchmarked my SSD with CrystalDisk and it seems that my numbers are very low in comparison to other SSDs...

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that SSD technology has greatly improved in the seven months that it has been since I purchased mine, or my SSD's quality has just deteriorated tremendously. I never benchmarked my SSD when I got it so there is no telling if I am actually seeing slower speeds. The only thing that bothers me are the slow speeds. If my SSD has deteriorated, then these speeds would hold back my new drive in a Raid 0 config.

Also, please do let me know if you find any other 240gb+ SSDs for a good price that have better speeds. I am open to anything, not just a fan of Crucial or anything.

Ok first off, why are you even considering another ssd? Those things dont have much space & cost so much sticken $$! Youre better off getting like a 1 or 2 tb hard drive. Some 2tb drives cost bout the same as that Crucial ssd you posted. The main purpose of an ssd is to improve the boot up process of a desktop (or possible laptop if you wanna go that route).
 
I think some better deals will be popping up as we get closer to BF. The ADATA is by no means a slow drive, but it is not one of the elite drives. I would probably consider selling it on amazon and purchase a 256gb if you are running out of room as opposed to buying a second adata for raid 0. Raid 0 does not support trim on 6 series mobos, only the newer 7 series. The crucial m4, vertex 4, and samsung 830 are great choices. I got my samsung for $150 on amazon about a month ago. Thus, I think waiting it out for now is the best option and listing your ssd for sale to see if you get any bites as well as looking for some slightly better deals.

The reason I am considering another SSD is because I need more space for games.

I think the question you are really asking, though, is why I want another SSD versus just getting a hard drive. The answer is simple:

I already have a data hard drive installed on my system. I keep all of my music, videos, and less relevant programs and files on that drive. I keep all of my games and applications which I would like to load quickly on my solid state drive. Recently I have been purchasing more and more games, and in turn, my solid state drive has been getting filled up. I would still like the load time of a solid state drive but I need more space. The fact that they do not have much space and cost a large sum of money is just a premium one has to pay for the super fast speeds.

As for your comment about the main purpose of a solid state drive, I wholeheartedly disagree. I personally never noticed myself praising the quicker boot time on an SSD versus a hard drive. Instead, I take the most notice in the quick loading time in games (Microsoft Flight, for example, which has excruciatingly long load times on hard drives) and the use of everyday applications.

I was planning on waiting a bit until a few of the games I pre-ordered actually come out, but I saw this deal on NewEgg and I wanted some feedback. You don't think $80 the Crucial M4 is one of, if not the best deals I will find on a 240gb+ SSD?

After countless hours of research, I have elected to make the leap. I am not typically someone who purchases a model as soon as it is released, but I could not hold myself back. If you still do not understand, check out some of the benchmarks and reviews on this bad boy. This SSD is currently the fastest SSD on the market from what I have seen.
