I got kind of curious today, but thought I'd share this with everyone.
I play a lot of fighting games, but one in particular is my favorite, Dead or Alive 5. I play as a few different characters, but the two I like the most are Bayman and Hitomi.
Hitomi is more of a karate style of character. I noticed that before matches and during them, after specific inputs are used, she uses the term "osu". I play the game with Japanese words and English subs, and it translated it just as "Osu!". Even in English, they had the voice actor say "osu".
I saw Spidey online a bit ago, and he was playing a game called "osu!", which is a free rhythm game. It got me thinking, what exactly is the meaning of the word?

A quick search brought me to that page, which I found interesting.
The phrase has a long history, but it can be summed up in this. It's a very serious term, used to show assertiveness, strength, and determination. It's used as a term to get people pumped up, to help build team spirit and strength, often used in karate, but also known to be used in the military, on the battlefield.
I don't know how well it will take off, but don't be afraid to pump up your team, yell out Osu! and get people pumped!
