So for the last week or so, I find it rare (as in I've been on just about every day, and it hasn't been like this once) to have anyone actually playing BF3. And when they are, they aren't in our servers. Our servers have been empty almost 100% of the time since Thursday. Every time I jump on ventrilo, everyone is playing MechWarrior Online. If we don't start playing, council is probably going to consider dropping our BF3 servers. They aren't going to pay money every month for people in the division to play other games or in other servers. It's really frustrating when I get off work or on the weekends and want to unwind for a bit, and there is 5-6 people in the BF3 channels in ventrilo and not a one of them is playing BF3 and refuses to get on, and both of our servers are empty. We have already gotten multiple servers shut down from our division, my guess is we are doing pretty well at getting another one shut down as well.

What are we going to do about this? At the rate things are going, I can almost see BF3 division getting thrown into the Unsupported Games section to sit with Diablo 3 and SW:TOR that did the same thing.

Well one server I can't even get on, the second restricts weapons and I refuse to get on it. Third most of this division is addicted to hardcore, myself I cant stand it, I play this game to have fun, and since I waited a year to do so I will have fun on it.
As far as empty servers, I have no idea why ours sit empty while others thrive with the same set up.

Yeah I agree. Everyone is playing other games. I want the events to come backn that would help. Its hard to gain eG and eGO status aswell since noone watches our activity in other games or in bf3 but not in vent.

Its just that time of year for the bf division I assume

Events are one way of keeping everyone playing and I agree it seems like its about time for one. As for the promotion thing, it took me two years to get my O, you just gotta hang in there and stay active.

We need everyone to help out to fill servers, I try my level best but we really need everyone to step up here, if I invite you on battlelog please try to join even if can play for 5 mins. This is probably our last push so lets take things a bit seriously.

In regards to playing other games, we cannot stop that nor does that requires any stopping. Its you right to play any game you want but please also help to fill our servers whenever possible. We really need everyone to help out or else the consequences dont look good for us. I cannot put it more frankly than that.

You all heard it folks! lets get too it!

i guess this is a neverending topic. i think the reasons why many of us (including me) dont play much have been mentioned more then enough.

if we can all agree to get on the servers and maybe just do some fun stuff in the beginning until the servers fills further up (something like knife/pistols only like the old days or maybe help get ppl assignements if thats not forbidden by EA) we should be able to get some life back on the servers.

the critical points (to me at least) are that
1. we (as in eGO members) shouldnt all leave at the same time. ive seen it happen quite often that 4 or more ppl drop out of the game at the same time. now if the server wasnt half full or less it kind of kills the server and is not much of a motivation to those who are left on there.

2. for some reason the server wont get over a certain amount of ppl alot of times. does anyone have any ideas why or suggestions how we can possibly get more ppl in?

ill try my best to help and get on the servers with others to help fill.

With the server configuration problems, that's what the Drop Box is for. We have changed them 100 times in the past to try to get what we want and what will work. I can understand not liking hardcore mode. I personally hate normal mode (the whole "I shot an entire magazine into your head and you turn around and shoot twice and kill me" thing), but I'll still play on it sometimes. I agree with KILLER on that you can play any game you want, there's nothing we can or should do about that. But if you're sitting in the BF3 vent channels not doing anything along with 3-4 other people and someone comes in and says "Hey let's fill up one of our servers" and you're "busy", that's a no-go in my book. If BF3 isn't your main game, then change divisions and get in their ventrilo channels. When I look for people to play with, the first place I look is ventrilo. It's very frustrating to have 10 people in BF3 vent, and not a damn one is playing and not a damn one WILL play.

@Sajora, I think the way to fix the problem with people leaving at the same time is people need to get in ventrilo while they are playing and try to figure out who is going to leave when. That's one of the main reasons we have our vent server, so that admins can coordinate on running a server. As for the servers not going over a certain amount of players, I have no idea. We started the all maps server last night with 3-4 and within 45 minutes it had 50 people in it.

This isn't something grand enough that I would leave the clan for, but it does royally piss me off when people don't fulfill their obligations and responsibilities when there isn't any real reason not to.

Supporting eGO is supporting eGO. Doesn't matter which division you represent or game you play. You have the tags on: advertisement. We need to utilize the drop box more effectively so that those who are in other vent channels and other games are recognized. A player isn't going to change divisions right away without getting to know the game and crowd that follows. It takes a few weeks to make a decision whether or not to.

Back to resurrecting the BF3 division, events, recruiting dates, prizes should be coming back soon. I'm sure most are busy with school and work at this time of year.

I second that ;) Then once the server gets up in the ranks, we won't need to call on everyone to help fill it. Our members plus those who " Like " the server will be more than enough to get a " Rumble " going!

Once again me, Tride, Sin and Snoop don't constitute everyone... Me personally I'm burnt out from Battlefield. It's not fun anymore for me. It never had the feel that 1942 or 2 held in my opinion. Was it fun at first? Yeah, sure. Unfortunately it tries to hard to satisfy everyones views of what Battlefield should be instead of focusing on one way and being great at it. If I do feel like firing it up again it's not going to sit in an empty server hoping it might fill.

For awhile I played into the "let's fill server" schtick but I can't lie to myself anymore it's just not fun for me. My choosing not to play anymore, and I think at least Tride agrees with me, is not enough to have killed the servers. That was the huge wave of recruits who were so gung ho about battlefield who just vanished entirely with no word, not our deciding we were for the time being done with Battlefield.

Snoop still plays but can only do so on weekends as that's when he has access to his PC that doesn't suck. However he also enjoys playing with me, tride and Sin a great deal I think. So tends to play whatever we decide to play if he has it.

I guess in a long drawn out way I'm just trying to say you can't say "everyone." As all of us on the last few days know who you are talking about and it's literally like 4 of us. That's not even a fraction of the reported members of this division. The real issue here is no one else gets on anymore so us 4 who can still have fun without playing Battlefield 24/7 seem to be the entirety of the active division. I am a gamer not a Battlefielder. That means my gaming interests are far and wide. My fun isn't dictated by a single end all game. Sorry if that pisses any one off but let's end the charade. I was under the impression this was a gaming community not a tiresome job.

And to preemptively respond to the inevitable, "You're the reason the division is dying." No, I'm not. Far greater numbers left before I did. I just continue to use vent.

With that, I officially resign my membership from Battlefield Division so that hopefully those who can't imagine the thought of someone not feeling Battlefield anymore can stop assuming I'm obligated to something. Assuming I can keep admin. I'll still be available in vent for those in BC2 or BF3(assuming the servers eventually get filled) who need an admin on occasion. If not, whatever I'll still use the vent. Unless that makes people butthurt too in which case I'm sure there's other vent servers I can hang out on.

Edit: As far as events we did have them twice a week but not enough people showed up. So I tried to reduce it to once a week on a day that majority people seemed to agree was a good night and people still didn't show up. Then we lost the private server because the ones paying for it, didn't. So I stopped caring.

Alright. I'm sick and tired of these blame game threads. They have been popping up more and more recently and it does not help.

Yes our servers need to get filled and at the same time I don't want people to feel obligated to play a game that bores them. If someone wants to play some other game because it is more fun great. I would rather see the members happy playing another game than pissed off and bored playing BF3.

The whole Division appreciates those people who fill our servers. We wouldn't be around without them but we also need to realize that many people have played basically only BF3 for a year now and surprise surprise are bored of it.

Yes our servers need to be filled. Yes people can play whatever game they want. Yes they can hang out in the Battlefield Division rooms to play those games because their friends are in the BF Division. No they don't have to change Divisions. No you may not continue to blame people for not wanting to play a game they are bored of.

Plenty of people have made sacrifices for this Division because we are in a rough spot. Don't belittle that by saying that they aren't doing enough.
