Hi guys,

Whenever I start Counter Strike : Source, I practically see the Dust2 24/7 Deathmatch server empty all the time. It could be my time zone, because yesterday late I saw 12 people in it ( including myself ).

Would it be possible, I know we don't use them, but to put Bots on this server? It's never really full ( as far as I've experienced ) and bots would make it possible for Europeans, Asians & more to play on this server. I really like Deathmatch so It's pretty disappointing when I start CS:S and the server is empty as usual.
Like I said, it could be the time difference.
Maybe, if more people feel the same way like I do we could get the Bots on that server.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
RAWRCOON

Good to see you're interested in filling the server :]. Leadership are frequently putting out server filling announcements so if you see one of those, hop on into the server.

Also, if you see that the server is empty and you'd like to do something about it, I think the best way would be to join the server and invite as many of your friends as you can. You could also ask an Advisor to put out an announcement for you if you're determined enough :p. They're often great ways to fill a server. I've added you, invite me whenever you like :].

As for bots, I quite enjoyed them on CS:GO to mess around with when the servers were empty and they kept me entertained while I tried to fill the servers. They could be a beneficial addition to the server I must say, I'm all for bots.

I agree with Xavier, the bots were pretty entertaining and encourage individuals to actually stay in a server to start it up unlike sitting in an empty server by yourself when no one joins.

Glad to have your support! And yes, Xavier that's a good idea. I try to fill up as much as I can. Never thought about asking an advisor to fill up a server.

Interesting thought. I have mixed feelings about bots in community servers though. First, I believe they make a server look desperate, as if they are there solely to make the place look busy. I also dislike the fact they aren't as challenging as real players. And I don't know if you could disable points while playing them; It would be slightly unfair to gain points against bots.

While it would be nice to have some targets rather than none, I just don't feel too good about having bots on the DM server.

Also, dropbox this thought for the leadership to look at. We can all input our thoughts in this thread as well.

Yes, exactly. That's the main problem about Bots. We absolutely don't need 'em in Dust2 24/7 ( normal server ), Office and Italy. But it could be a real asset for the Deathmatch server, because it's so new. Gaining points against Bots is indeed unfair towards the players that actually killed real players to gain their rank/points. However, I think bots are there to practice ( even though they're not skilled, it still helps you aim/test your reflex skills ). Some people might like the time they have before the bots start shooting at them. There are good players, and bad players ( I'm part of a very selective group in the 'Bad players' section haha ). And for the bad players it's nice to get more kills than deaths.

I doubt eGO will seem desperate with Bots, since our normal Dust2 24/7 server is constantly full and our Italy server is either half full or full. Our Office server however can drop in population once in a while.

Anyway, I'll dropbox this exact thread. It's something to think about. I absolutely LOVE Deathmatch, but the problem is it's never full. Atleast, for Europeans that can't stay up too late.

I do join Italy pretty often. But I also like to play Deathmatch. The "waiting for everybody to die"-part sometimes get a bit old. I still think it will be a good idea to add bots to the Deathmatch server.

Filling up a server is fairly simple. All you have to do is invite a couple of your Steam friends to play, and even if 2 people join, you will notice that others will see you ingame and will join too. PM an advisor to post in a Steam message. That helps sometimes.

Thanks Cronus & The Judge for your time. It has helped me out a lot. I will make sure it fills up!
