So, I decided to waste my first period today browsing the web, and I came upon my third site: the EdgeGamers Battlefield Division. Look, guys, I'm not here for another blame game, but we're suffering.

Take a look at our forums, for example; I'm hard-pressed to find a post that isn't about the servers, members leaving/returning, or a game that isn't Battlefield (yes, I'm only adding to it, I know). In my opinion, reving the forums and making this place fun will significantly improve turnout to events, as well as server filling.

Battlefield has been out for a year now, and while I still enjoy the game, it's starting to grow weary on me. Personally, I believe the game could have had much better design to begin with, and it could have prevented some of the issues we're experiencing now. Overall, PC patch support has been terrible (other than DLC releases), with bugs from day one remaining in the game. Many maps are too focused on one style of play, and it just isn't fun, as in Armored Kill: you better hope your vehicle isn't destroyed, or you'll be running around for quite some time. Sadly, the same goes for many base maps, and the only way to avoid it at this point is to play Close Quarters or City Maps. Hopefully Aftermath can bring change to this, but I refuse to get my hopes too high as I have in the past.

Also on the note of maps: our server configurations seem destined to fail. Because we're a larger group, we also have a wider variety of interests. Unfortunately, we also have to support other games, and thus Battlefield itself cannot sustain six or seven servers as in some communities. As a result, the division ends up with two or three specialized servers, and the past examplifies the failure in this method. Most recently, our full rotation has been hugely successful - because it includes something for everyone. Granted, I still pub on some Metro or CQC servers, but for the most part I can play a few enjoyable games on our server. If we can sustain both a hardcore and normal full rotation, I believe we'll be in good shape.

Moving from there, I'd like to mention activity, one of the major groups of posts in the division. When I look at the forums or Ventrilo, we just seem dead. I, for one, have picked up a lot of extracurricular activities this year, and simply don't have as much time to game, and this is exactly why we need recruiting. A division doesn't sustain the same members from year to year; for that matter, a division may not have the same people from month to month.

Recruiting has always been an issue for our division. Apart from a few excellent, overachieving individuals, we recruit very few people, or rather, retain very few recruits; back in the day, even my retention wasn't much. When you recruit a player, your first actions should be getting them active on the forums/introducing themselves, joining Ventrilo, and helping them get to know the division. Also, set them on a path for promotion by teaching them the rules and helping them enforce them. If a person recruits five people, then all of them recruit five, and all of them five, and again, that's 625 recruits, stemming from one person...those recruits, if they were all online at once, would nearly fill ten servers. I'm happy to offer recruiting advice. Honestly, there isn't much to it. Just shoot out a message in squad chat, asking how they like the server, if they'd like to join; be polite about it and keep in mind the element of fun.

With our current members, I often see a rift. Far too many people just can't seem to get along with others, or have tempers, or rage too frequently. Admittedly, there are people in our division who I don't like, and I think I'm a pretty agreeable guy; however, I still have to respect them and their preferences. We're a team, and we don't exist without everyone playing their part.

So get out there, Battlefield division members. Get out on our servers. Get together, have some fun, make some jokes, meet some new people, and let's relive the glorious days of old, shall we?

the most important thing we need is action, everyone needs to set a example, get in the server try to fill them and recruit at the sametime. Right now its sad to say but only a few people want to recruit and this is hurting us big time. Please give the division maybe 1 hour of your day and we can get our number back up there again. We really need to get out there and recruit.

Pubs have found their favorites. eGO is not apart of those favorites.

We are done in the BF3 community.

The end.

I think that after math may breath new life into the game
So lets not give up just yet

Though this is only my opinion...

i don't think its just eGo other severs are dead too one i uesed to play in that was allways full is dead now i think with MOH warfighter coming out alot of ppl moved too that game now and that EA made it so you can't get points till the sever 6 ppl in it hasn't helped

there is no one stopping us from getting into those favorites, we have one of the strongest followings in BC2 and with some hard work we can replicate that in BF3 as well. No need for any pessimistic talk, lets get down to work.

We lose recruits by
1. Bf3 premium
2.our "lack" of admiring
3. Them getting mad due to them not getting a promotion
4. Hackusations
5. They think some of the older members (the ones that have been around longer) are jerks

Can agree on that . even Servers such as Digital Anarchy or WCK ect. seem to lack publicity . Before if was almost impossible to connect and now i can get on it at any given time.

For me and my Son (808Empire-7) we are in a moving process right now from one house to another. He also has some better doing in Grades in front of him before I will allow him to play or use the Internet.

Sorry guys .. I try hard to be there for eGo but with my new job and the movement I can't for the next 2 weeks :(

As we will always say don't worry about it. Take care of what is important, real life, and then get back to us. We aren't going anywhere.

To me honestly i am first off all a bit tired off playing this as my main game (i stil like it but a bit less now due to other games like moh wf which is my main game atm)
This could be temporarly i dunno we'll see.

But besides the well know reasons and issues that have been stated to much to be good in various threads i think one off the main issues is the big variety in bf3 resulting in a situation where you never can do good for everyone, some players like armored warfare others like city maps .... i mean overal bf3 did great marketingwise whit trying to attract several audiences even though the core game is stil based on vehicles... but for clans/community's it can be dead trap.

We see a lot off specialised servers on battlelog the reason why they do good is probably since they had a year off specialising in 1 type off server config and recruited members to that config. I know this division did that to for a while but somewhere it failed along the road, resulting now in what we have a small core off people who like different game setups.

To be honest i hope aftermath can change this, but we said that whit every dlc release and whit every dlc release we tried to jump into the hyped wagon and failed against other servers it might be because we have to much off our core gamers in the same timezone.
Cause i have a few american servers in my favorites who are full in my euro timezone whit admins on it... think we need to stop focusing on recruiting in a certain timezone, cause if you think about it we, if we recruit, start recruiting normally when we're filling our servers or have filled them which is often in the same timezone, kinda obvious right.
But we could counter that when playing during the weekends, i know most gamers play more during the weekends (i am one off the exceptions :p) meaning we could fill or substain our servers sooner/longer this should be core times off recruiting.

Look at the dods division, its our oldest division and has stabilised in a solid dods audience which isnt as big as the bf3 audience but stabile enough. Look at the division the past years, they now have a stabile crew off dedicated, players in the american timezone which is obvious as an mainly north american community but beyond that they have euro and aussie admins and manage to maintain server population for at least 1 server 24hours often avalanche. If you hop into ava during aussie timezone you'll see admins on it same for euro timezone....

Think we lack a crew outside the normal timezone a lot... i know i've said this a lot before and i know most dont bother about focusing recruitment in other timezones but i am 100% convinced its a key to substain or fill our servers more. That is if you can get these players into vent/forums/admin sooner due to lack off admins then.

I'm moving too in the next few days. :w00t: From North Dakota to Florida which is about 2,300 miles. It is going to be a long haul, but it will be definitely worth it. After 10 years of living here, it is time to get out of here. I probably won't be playing for a couple of weeks, maybe a month. I'm not sure yet. We need to wait for the closing of the house in Florida, but we are driving down 2 weeks earlier because of our closing in ND so I'm not exactly sure when I'll have Internet again and hopefully it won't suck as much as the Internet I have right now.

Its the game in general not just our servers. There are so many problems with the game which has caused so many people to move on to something else. Those who do stick around already have their common places to play. This game is so similar to bf2 it has no long term appeal with something new. I played bf2 for more than 6 years and it still held its appeal for me, this game i have played for a year and its already getting boring for me. The servers I used to play on in bf2 were populated for years for that reason, long term appeal for the game being something new/original. Lack of players left for bf3 means less servers populated. If we can get atleast one server populated at all times it will do just fine. I am as guilty of this as anyone, when I dont play I should idle on eGO servers but I don't. When I do play I play elsewhere because I have a very specific set of things I play while in game

Metro has always been one of the easier maps to populate, IMO the best maps are metro and bazaar for ground/infy. Heavy vehicle maps that are the best are Caspian, firestorm and kharg. Gravitate around those maps and keep the server populated, more people will put it in their favorites.

Please don't shut this down ;( .. Packing up my Comp in 15 minutes and then I'm out the door for a week. After that I will be back and will try recruiting etc. . Don;t make me come back and boom .. no mor BF Division :( lol .. Heads up guys .. it's like a marriage .. sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad .. but we ARE =eGo= and that means we stick together in GOOD and in BAD times ;)

Aloha

Luv ..

I personally have been busy with studying and school, i try as much as possible to join the server, but im idle just like today !

Most of it has to do with whether we believe we can do it or not. Let's go, soldiers! YES WE CAN! ;)

maybe if some of us do less talking and actually fill servers for a change it would make a difference. I invite people to join and most of the time people ignore it, other than a few people here, most dont have any rights to cry about how the division is doing because you arnt helping it either.
