Latest update graphic issue?

Is anyone else having any graphic issues since the latest DoD:S update?

I'm seeing a full screen of pink and black in a checkerboard pattern anytime I am not 'alive'. It goes away about 1 second after spawn and then immediately returns when I die (and I die a lot!).

I can see the overlay text, such as kills, chat, etc. on top of the checkerboard.

I'm playing on a 3.4ghz Core i7 iMac (Mountain Lion/10.8.2) with an AMD Radeon HD 6970M in full screen 2560x1440 resolution.

Any suggestions (besides Windows) would be appreciated.

Options > Multiplayer > Advanced then uncheck the boxes that say "Film Grain Effect when dead/spectator"
 
I'm having the same issue, however will try out Dr. Compton's solution to it.
 
Dr. Compton's solution worked for me! It was practically unplayable before without the death context.

Im not the hero DoDS needs right now, but the one it deserves.

Someone else figured it out yesterday but Im going to not remember who it was that told me and steal the credit for now. Luckily for me I already had the boxes unchecked already for some reason and was confused when everyone was throwing a fit earlier!

I had them unchecked, too. All I see is the purple/pink power lines. It's like New Year's Eve on every server.

Same for me. Getting checkered image even though i remove configs and commands to standard. All the time doesn't matter what server.
 
yeah i did have same problem but anymore i get some warning spam my console -.-
 
maybe the next update will give us all free candy and cupcakes! Perhaps with some kool-aid in paper cups on the side. Compton will get sick on the bouncy ball, and Meg will run around pulling everyones hair
 
I did not have any purple screen problem. But that might be because I have my game set to such ridiculously low detail levels that it has worse graphics than DOD 1.3, indeed when I played DOD 1.3 I was impressed that its graphics are better than my game. So I figure these effects have been disabled already and I never noticed it.

I do however have purple cables. Anyone getting this glitch? Further, whenever I open up my console I see a big error message spamming that the capable error.

I am not sure why Steam makes updates for DOD. It is not an "update", everytime it is some issue that ruins the game. I think that there is a guy in valve who played DOD, got owned really badly, and now made it his life goal to get rid of DOD by whatever means necessary and hence is using these updates to slowly destroy the game.

Sounds like St. Patty's day gone wrong mixed with Halloween....don't be giving them any ideas...
