Introduction to MAUL

If you remember back to when you became a member, you may recall giving eGO your STEAMID and becoming MAUL verified. But have you ever wondered what exactly MAUL was, or how it was created?

MAUL stands for Modern Admin UnLimited and it?s eGO's Unified Administration System. The MAUL system offers the convenience of managing our admins and keeps track of all bans made on eGO's Source servers. It was developed by our very own Dominion and Agent86 and released to our community on September 1st, 2008. The end result was an amazing tool for all of our Source games.

The most powerful component of the MAUL system is that it makes it easier for =(eG)= and =(eGO)= administrators to be given the ability to administrate on all of our servers at the same time. Through MAUL, this can be done without having to keep editing each server's administrator list every time an admin is promoted. In fact, it?s this task and the size of eGO, that was the reason behind the creation of MAUL.

MAUL also allows our individual admins to make use of its internal tools such as identifying individual players and their MAUL-Admin status, or allowing you to add notes and updates to your bans - which you should always remember to do!

All new members joining one of our Source game divisions are required to be MAUL verified. This produces a MAUL ID number that allows the system to recognize them. When you get promoted to either =(eG)= or =(eGO)= and join one of our servers, MAUL verifies your STEAMID and admin pin in order to grant you administrative privileges.
