New Grahpics Card

I'm buying that SAPPHIRE on wensday!
$169.99 in free games first 0 hmmmm?

So if you decide to go AMD on the video card, whatcha gonna do with ur gtx 460? I would suggest staying with nvidia (since you already have a card) & going sli (unless thats not ur plan or unless you dont have a motherboard equipped for that).

I haven't been up on current tech and benchmarks since summer of 2011 when I built this rig. But I'm bored at work and feel like helping.

I looked at some benchmarks on tomshardware and they were done in August so they could perform different with the latest drivers, especially with the new beta catalyst drivers as they're pretty amazing. The test used that model of 660 Ti and a MSI 7950. In every game except BF3 the 7950 beat the 660 Ti by 2-10 fps in most cases, and in BF3 the 660 beat it by only a few. It's a close race but since they're pretty close in price, I'd put my money into the 7950 because of the performance gain and with how the drivers for AMD have been going. I can only see it getting better.

I'll probably end up selling the GTX 460 for like 20 dollars

The 7950 is a better deal (if you haven't purchased anything already).

Also I'd take your 460 from you for $20 if its a 1gb version :P

Geforce has better shaders and tessalation. Adaptive vsync and a whole bunch of good features.

I would highly suggest the 660ti FTw with assassins creed. Tigerdirects website. Or borderlands 2. Evga's website.

If you are playing on 1080p the 660ti is the card to get right now. Absolutley solid framerates.

I would recommend the 7950 if not for amds drivers. Overclocked, it can match a 680. However, I have had too many crashes when comp is idling/sleeping due to amd drivers using many 7950s.

I ended up getting a new monitor, couldn't resist the deals on them. Originally 230 marked down to 150 and a 20$ mirb. Graphics card weren't marked down too much but I plan to be getting the 7950 in the near future.
