Laptop suggestions

Ok, so my parents have finally agreed to let me buy a new laptop on the condition that I do it through Costco and the laptop not be a HP (bad experiences with them and warranties). I'm going to be playing things like Battlefield 3, Call Of Duty series as my most intensive games. I'm working with a budget in the $750s at most.

Could any of you suggest a baseline performance setup?
Also, I'd need to do the average computing stuff on the laptop like word processing and whatnot (no AlienWare, much as I wish I could devote an entire computer just to gaming).

I guess I'm looking for overally product suggestions and/or baseline specifications I should look for in the new Windows 8 laptops.

I wish I could help you bro but all I can tell you is $750 for a labtop that can play bf3 hmmm
It won't be as awesome as you think it might be.
 
Nothing at $750 will play BF3, and if they do, not very well and or with everything off. All laptops under $1000 will have integrated Intel HD 3000/4000 graphics or Nvidia 6xx GT Once you get over the $1000 you start getting your Nvidia 6xx GTX or your upper AMD graphics which would run your desired games better.

Looking at Costco's website.. I don't see much hope for what they have. It's pretty much all the integrated Intel HD 3000/4000 graphics for laptops under 700..

I don't know what all those run but my girlfriend bought a Dell that has the HD 4000 and it runs plants vs zombies just fine.. :/ but that's the extent of her gaming so I'm not sure if I'm much of help bud! I'm sorry :(
 
Darn...I'm trying to keep costs down, and if it helps I don't need an awesome graphical experience (i.e. I have tons of stuff turned off in the CoD games).

2) Your Costco MAY offer a great deal on an older gaming laptop
3) Being stuck buying something from Costco isn't the best way to get a deal on a laptop. Limiting yourself to Costco, well, it's hard for me to say it, but you may as well look at Best Buy too. There are a variety of ways to get discounts, rebates, promo codes, etc. I snagged a laptop with a rebate code and a discount, slashing its price by $350 (cost about $1100 in the end). Persistence will pay off; just keep looking at laptops and do a lot of searching for rebate codes and coupons (they are out there!). Try giving slickdeals.com a try; you may get lucky and someone will share a promo code that can cut the cost of a laptop down to your budget.

Yeah I wouldn't buy a Toshiba laptop.. that's on the same level as Compaq.. I wouldn't even buy Toshibas Qosmio laptops, and those are their 1400+ gaming laptops..

That does have specs, but that doesn't mean 6 months down the road that it won't have problems just like every other Toshiba I've dealt with.

And Snipeye, it's more up to his Parents where he gets it unfortunately.. But I agree, with what you said.

I know. I'm just pointing out how his parents are forcing him into a bad position to find anything that comes close to what he's looking for. You and I both know Costco isn't even on our list of stores when we think of "Where to buy a laptop?"
 
Ok, so I'm proud to say that I've put in money to get the Dell Inpiron with the Nvidia 630 video card! Thanks for whoever suggested it, because it looked and felt like a beast!

Glad you already made a choise, but im going to make a little suggestion (Maybe not as good as the Dell Inspiron), but i recently bought an Acer Aspire V3-551-8469 and it work great!, in Can u Run it? say i can play Battlefield 3, i dont have it, so i havent testd it yet...

So maybe its a good choise, because this laptop costs $550 lol.
