Whats the most you'd be willing to spend for the build? Assuming you already have a screen, mouse and keyboard?
 
Spend a couple bucks more to get a non-micro ATX motherboard. Micro ATX boards tend to be pretty limited on features. Unless you're getting a smaller case or building a media center, they just tend to be weaker and harder to maneuver when installing parts. Get a bigger hard drive. One 500 GB hard drive is pretty small for the modern era of gaming.

Generally it's also better to separate religion from science, so as helpful as it is to have a compound that worships multiple gods, you're probably better off buying a polysynthetic compound. :P Although if you're not buying a heatsink for your CPU, it's probably not worth it to buy compound.
 
Hey Ratfire, check out the cpu that he bought. Its not unlocked, so theres no use in getting an aftermarket heatsink. Besides, his whole build is a budget build, so theres no need to suggest an aftermarket heatsink. Now if he were to change & go after the unlocked i5, then thatll be a different story.

Also to Deater, how much is your price range for your build? If its reasonable, then we can help you find better options to make the best band for your buck.
 
My budget is $800, I have looked into buying a larger harddrive and I'm hoping I can find a good black friday deal on one. Newegg did have a 750gb on sale but it's sold out... :(
 
Pillar, I agree (although there is something to be said for a cheap aftermarket heatsink being better at preserving your hardware vs the stock cooler, even if you're not overclocking)

I wasn't suggesting he buy a heatsink, I was saying there's no reason to buy thermal compound if you're NOT going to buy a heatsink.

Deater - If you're on budget, then the hard drive consideration isn't a big deal. You can always add another hard drive later on if you run out of space.

And of course, the main question to ask is, do you have a Micro Center near you? If so, you can get the 3570k+z77 motherboard for about the same price.

Power supply is biggest problem currently. That is likely a junk model that likely can't even put out 600W.

Currently comes out cheaper than the other one after rebate and shipping costs while being a far, far, far superior product.

Beyond that, gtx 560 is slightly old tech. A 7850 1gb might be a better purchase though you wouldn't get as large a rebate on one. It will be a bit faster though, use less power, and probably overclock better.
 
Thanks for the feedback guys. I am looking to try to save as much money as I can, hopefully I can find some good deals on friday. Can anyone tell me the difference between WD Blue and WD black?
 
In general, Blue is standard, Black is high performance with slightly higher cache and transfer rates.

Good deal as well for a decent mobo and a free set of the ram you are looking at getting. Basically can replace that mobo and ram in your build for this set and come out about even while getting a better feature set mobo.

Using the build I have now do you guys think I will be able to smoothly run games such as Crysis or Battlefield on medium to high settings?

Do you have a Micro Center store near you? If so you should pick out what you want on new egg and then go in Mc and look arond because most of their prices are cheaper than new egg with the exception of video cards! I just finish buying all the new parts for my rig and saved myself around 325 if not more!

I got my i5 3770k from their today for $169.99+ $40 Off the purchase of a mobo so I picked up a Asrock z77 extreme 4 for $134.99 - $40 so 94.99 for a total of $264.98!
