Good FPS viewer?

Hey guys and gals. I really need a good FPS viewer that isn't FRAPS, Screencast/Game Booster. I want a standalone FPS viewer, that is similar to FRAPS. Any ideas?

Not sure if you can only edit movies with Sony Vegas, though.
It's expensive, but you can always get a cheaper one or pirate it.

Oh I see how I could've mislead you. No no no, I meant a benchmark tester that shows the frames per second on the corner of the screen.

Ah. Well source games have their own in-game one. Type the following command in console: cl_showfps 1 or you can also type net_graph 1 or 2 or 3. Number 3 shows everything I think.

I'm aware of that, but thanks. I only need it for GTA IV and BF3. Though, I decided to go with Razer Game Booster and its SC module. It's the best I could find.

You could have used xfire and I believe BF3 actually has one built in too. And if I'm remembering right, GTAIV does too! but I suppose that works XD

I use the fps counter that comes with Overwolf (No its not just for wow). I use it for all source games and Borderlands 1 and 2.

Yes the in-game console commands are the most accurate way of displaying fps. Fraps and other programs run as a program so its good but not as precise.

You could try EVGA precision or MSI Afterburner, both show fps and allow you to change fan speed and possibly overclock if your card is EVGA or MSI respectively

The card doesn't actually have to be from either company. You could run a silly Powercooler card and use MSI AB or EVGA Pre.
I have an HIS 6950 and I use Sapphire Trixx for my OC'ing and fan control. Just my preference.

You could use Xfire or Overwolf, those works very good.

Thats why I said possibly, I never really tried it with different brands (had Pre with an EVGA card and AB for a MSI card). But that is nice to know

They're all basically the same program with a different GUI. Some have better code and won't crash things when you OC. EVGA Pre. and MSI AB are probably the top, but since Sapphire only deals with AMD, I use Trixx as it's geared for AMD. Where as EVGA Pre is only Nvidia, and MSI is either.

So yes it does matter what you have, but only slightly.
