The world will not end due to a Mayan Calender bull crap. Here's my justification:

Though mentioned by Benjamin Franklin in 1784, the modern idea of daylight saving was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson and it was first implemented during the First World War. Many countries have used it at various times since then. -Wikipedia

With the subtraction of Daylight Savings time, the end of the world should have happened a very very very long time ago. So no, it will not end come December 21st. Merry Christmas

Eh crap. I made a mistake:

The Mayans were wrong not because of Daylight Savings time, but because of leap year. My bad.

With the addition of the extended month of February every 4 years, the years have been extended from their original predicted state. Not to mention that We also changed calendars all together in the American Revolution era when we jumped from the English Calendar to the one we currently use which has, i think, an 11 day difference.

There. Mayans were wrong.
