Interested in grabbing some free holiday loot? If so, the Counter-Strike Division has a special Christmas story for you:
Santa lost some of his presents while flying over the Dust 2 Deathmatch server, and he needs your help! The enemy team has snatched up the presents and it is your job to kill them and take the presents back for the big man. The top gift-grabber will be handsomely rewarded by Santa himself each week with a $50 Steam card!
Also, during the contest there will be four randomly selected days where one special Golden Gift Box gift will be dropped. This special gift will contain one of the games listed below and whoever picks it up will get to keep the game for free.
Prizes:
1st week winner - $50 Steam card - Claimed by: Slam Fanderbergler
2nd week winner - $50 Steam card - Claimed By: RedeEyez
3rd week winner - $50 Steam card - Claimed by: Kwinky Panda
4th week winner - $50 Steam card - Claimed By: Pats
Garry's Mod - Claimed By: Tubs
Portal 2 Bundle (Portal + Portal 2) Claimed By: MHeroFighter
Capsized - Claimed By: Jomigirock
Mount & Blade Collection - Claimed By: Jimmy Kudo
Rules & Stipulations:
Only EdgeGamers members are eligible to pick up gifts.
There must be at least 10 active players in the server for gifts to drop.
You may only win one gift card for the duration of the contest.
You may only collect one Golden Gift Box for the duration of the contest.
You must enter the server with your tags on to pick up gifts.
Leadership members are exempt. (Sorry!)
The contest will run December 2 - December 29.
Week schedule (each week ends at 11:59 PM EST):
Week 1 - Dec 2-8
Week 2 - Dec 9-15
Week 3 - Dec 16-22
Week 4 - Dec 23-29
The Tournament rules are subject to change at any time.
If any changes to the rules occur, participants will be notified in this thread.
Tutorial:
Kill members of the opposing team to collect the gifts. Gift boxes have a random chance of falling upon death. They will not drop due to suicide. When a gift drops EdgeGamers members have the ability to pick them up. The gifts will stay in place until picked up, or they expire (about 10 seconds). How many gifts you have collected in the session will appear as MVP stars. You can track your daily/weekly progress by typing !gifts in chat. Once per week a Golden Gift Box will drop randomly. The member that picks this box up will be notified of which game they will receive from the prize list above. The game will be awarded by CS Leadership once the winner has been verified. Any questions you have may be posted in this thread. CS Leadership will answer promptly as long as the question you are asking hasn't already been answered in this post or a subsequent post so please read carefully before submitting any questions.
Thanks to Iamevilbear for his tireless plugin work and donating $200 in Steam cards. Also thanks to Trippey for the main graphic for this contest and the box skin artwork! Finally, thanks to Christy for modifying the map to suit our needs.
