=============================

This Week's Mission:

This week we're going to be playing in I44, a tip-top WWII mod for Arma. Try out new (old) weapons on a variety of maps like Omaha and Bastogne. No other WWII game even comes close to the realism and attention to detail in I44. If you're a fan of WWII shooters or Arma in general you won't be disappointed by I44.

*Note* The event this week will be held at 10:00 PM Eastern. Times are likely to change until we can find a nice comfy time slot.

What the heck is Casual War Day?

At some workplaces casual attire is allowed on certain days to take away from the banality and monotony of the average man's unfulfilling yet desperately needed job. As per Op: X' unwritten and often randomly made up rules; Saturday is the day you can unbutton your custom tailored suit, unwind your double Windsor knotted Italian silk tie, and shoot freedom hating [people] in Arma II.

You're probably thinking "Who wouldn't buy Italian silk ties?" or maybe "Where's the 'casual' part come into play?" Well, it's simple-- we shoot anything that moves, hates freedom, or is within our maximum range in any (5ish) Arma II game modes. To add some professionalism to our Casual War Day business attire is mandatory but the game modes we play and the mods we play are more relaxed-- by that I mean we'll do what we want for your benefit and with your input.

Aside from Arma II (we'll just call it Combined Ops or CO), Operation Arrowhead (OA), and Day-Z, our diehard Arma fanatics have been trying out two new mods for CO/OA: Invasion '44 (I44) and Vietnam the Experience (VTE). I'm sure there are a bunch of other mods and junk we can try out but in the near future expect to see gameplay of CO, OA, I44, and VTE.

Basic Installation Instructions

Detailed instructions will be coming soon. For now, if you use Six Updater create a new Preset, right click on the preset and rename it, make sure to select "A2 OA Combined Ops (Forced)" in the dropdown for the selected preset, and in the Mods tab filter for @I44, then right click @I44 and select "Install or Update Mods and Process BIKeys". Repeat the same procedure (including making a new preset) for VTE by substituting @I44 with @VTE.

**To launch the mod, right click on the desired preset, select Updater Actions, and click on Launch Game.**

To launch on Steam (most players cannot as of the last Steam update), the addition of a Steam launch option is required (Below). Right click on Arma II, go to properties, then Launch options.

I44: -mod=@I44;@CBA;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A2

VTE: -mod=@VTE;@CBA;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A2

If you can't figure it out with the help of this post-- you're out of luck here. However, I'm sure some knowledgeable Op: X members who know this stuff and who don't go by the name "Stormy" will be able to help in this thread or on Vent.

P.S. The time for this event will be augmented again and again. I doubt anyone bothers to read all the way to the bottom; blah, blah, blah.

TL;DR Invasion '44 (WWII mod) at 10:00 PM Eastern. Kill Nazis and Amerikanischers in the amazing WWII mod; I44. I44 mod required.

Yeah, that's Stormy's fault. Point and laugh at him next time, but the fact is that we always host this event on saturdays. I have yet to see you turn out, we're always looking for new players.

My mistake, I probably left the 12th from the original thread as I use my previous posts as a template. This post was for last Saturday's event on the 8th.
