December 7 will be always known as the day that will live in infamy. On this day, 71 years ago, the Japanese Empire attacked Pearl Harbor. In Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, you are put into the boots of a soldier who fights in major battles in the Pacific. From Pearl Harbor to Guadalcanal, you see what the war was like through the eyes of your soldier.
Not many games cover the Pacific theater of war; nevertheless, Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault has this area covered.
The game develops and changes throughout to show that not all games are mindless shooting and explosions with a loose storyline. The game has a solid and emotional storyline that makes you feel like you were apart of the war, from repealing the attack of the Japanese and saving trapped crew members aboard the U.S.S. Arizona to defending the Henderson airfield of Guadalcanal and many other key areas throughout the Pacific. This game is also down to the core realistic. From the Thompson to the B.A.R and other historic weapons from the Japanese and American side, you get to use plenty of weapons throughout the game. But, you will need to use every ounce of ammo, since ammo is scarce. Not only are the guns realistic, but you know that regenerating health mechanic everyone is used to? Well tough it out, because it is not there anymore. You only get a certain amount of heals and revives from which your squad's medic will use to fix you up. On a side note, make sure you are not in the line of fire when healing, because you can't shoot while he patches you up.
