So guys. Got into Magic: The Gathering 2 weeks ago. Went to my first tournament. Dropped out half way. And did a 3v3. I have the mohawk obviously. And the other 2 were running burn decks and exile decks. I made a stellar come from behind victory play and dealt over 35 damage in 1 hit. ;) Be jelly of muh skeeeels.

I "play" casually. In that I have cards, quite a few, but rarely have time to actually play. I also have a bad habit of buying cards every now and then. I bought a booster box of the latest core set this past summer and have yet to play a game using cards from it, although I do have a fun looking tourney legal soldier deck rearing to go. Well actually it probably isn't tourney legal anymore because of some older cards I bought for it.

My favorites are the duel decks. Love buying two that are just ready to go, have some good strategy to them. Knights vs. Dragons, Azani vs. Nicol Bolas, I like buying those from time to time.

Casually I have a fun white/black knights deck and a red/green Dragon deck that is tons of fun when it draws right.

Very fun game, good luck as you get into it. I find that playing MTG is a lot like gaming online. It often depends on the people you are playing with. There are jerks, trolls, people who take it way too seriously and then there are others who are really fun to hang around. Hope you get a good group.

My next MTG project is to make mono-color EDH (commander) decks, since the last core set released some amazing mono color legendary creatures. Some day I'll make the time...some day...

*coughs* You can always send me a booster box*coughs*

lol. I just got into MTG a few weeks ago.

I wanna start a nice Blue green/white green deck soon. :3

is it similar to yu-gi-oh? I've heard of MTG but never actually seen the gameplay.

nice mohawk btw

Used to play quite often during Kamigawa and Old Ravnica. I almost always ran my suicide black deck, blue/red nuke, or my trolololo sapling deck (which can get up to 64 5/5 sapling tokens in play within one turn if I use it right).

i have always wanted to try card games like that, but noen of my friends want to so i havent gotten the chance yet :(

Awesome dude!
Some of my friends are into it, I am actually interested in it just don't know where to start :P

Buy intro decks or a starter deck. It will give you all you need to compete in tournaments and to play basic games.

But. . . You wont do any good in tournaments with such a basic deck. So you can also have people build you decks for a certain amount of money. ;)

I play mostly for fun. just gathered card from years of my brothers playing and im trying to get into more

Decks I'm Running:

EDH:
Karador (GBW) Ramp/Aggro
5-Color Fun deck

Standard:
Selesnya Life-Gain/Token

Modern:
Blue Mill
R/G Overrun Deck

Currently im working to build an Eldrazi deck only for fun. I really only play with close friends, i only go to prerelease events for any real tourney action.

If youre looking to start, i learned from watching friends play for a couple weeks then got into it. The basics are very easy to learn but the more in-depth rules are a little hard to learn. But it takes just playing and watching the game and learning from there.

I've been casually on-and-off playing MtG for YEARS now. It's really fun.

Kamigawaaaaa!
My main deck is a red and white samurai+equipment deck!
And a green spirit+arcane deck is my other deck!

Im curious, does anyone actually own Duel of the Planeswalker games? ive been itching to play someone on there so i actually have a use for the game.
