Thinking of upgrading from my 5770

Well, it seems that technology has advanced greatly since 2010 and I need to upgrade my gpu. I have an HD 5770 which can still run modern games like AC3, Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution or even BF3 at medium settings. I want to be ready for the next wave of games, to enjoy the fullest experience of games like GTA V. What's a good budget card? I'm not willing to spend more than 150 euros.

I would look for Christmas sales on NewEgg, also I don't think GTA V will be released on PC sadly .

That is around $200, so you are looking at a 7850. 2gb model would be preferable, but if you are playing at a res under 1080p, the 1gb will likely be fine for you.

GTX 660 would be the next step up though it is likely over your budget. After that, the 7870 is going to be slightly above the 660:

This gives you a good idea of where the cards fall at different resolutions. Depending on pricing where you buy, it might be slightly different than the US, so if the 660 or 7870 can be had for close to the price of the 7850 or within your budget, I would opt for one of those.

Why do you say that? Well, if it won't, i'll get it for the PS3. But I wouldn't upgrade my gpu for gta v only, because there are many upcoming games.

I have used a friends rig before that has a 2gb 7850 and it runs like hot knife through butter on most games today with minimal issues that I can notice, I am personally running a 7870 but for your budget I also agree a 7850 would suit you fine.

I went from a 5770 to a 460GTX, was a good choice.
