Mic Delay

Hi,

So I've noticed recently that I seem to have a 2-3 second mic delay. I will speak, and if someone else is speaking, I will hear my echo in 2-3 seconds. I always seem to be interrupting people because my voice does not register until someone has conveniently started to talk again. I don't think it is an issue in CS:S jail, but I seem to notice it most in vent. It could be happening other places, and I may just be unaware of it. Any ideas? Am I just insane? Thanks,

Much love,
XOXO

There will always be a delay in real time due to latency. The internet connections involved in transmitting the signal/information are directly responsible for any delay. That is the most basic non in-depth answer I can provide with why it will happen. On the subject of hearing yourself speak when someone else queues up their microphone is the setup they are using more than likely. The most common occurrence is when someone has a desktop microphone that picks up your voice from their speakers versus if they had a headset and or noise cancellation on their microphone. The guys that give feedback (you hear everyone else talk when they queue up their microphone) usually are the ones that annoy everyone else due to their setup.

Please for the love of god everyone with these setups, get noise cancellation microphones or get a headset!
