looking at buying new card@!

Hello,
Thought I would catch some thoughts before buying my new card and power supply..

current specs: Amd athlon quad core 3.10ghz 6gb 64 bit, integrated bogus card..
here's what i need some insight on.
MSI R6450-MD2GD3/LP Radeon HD 6450 Video Card - 2GB, DDR3, PCI-Express 2.1 (x16), 1x DVI-D, 1x HDMI, 1x VGA, DirectX 11, Single-Slot, Low Profile

Thermaltake W0388RU TR2 Series Power Supply - 600 Watts, ATX

Really not looking to spend more then $110 but I understand you get what you pay for so if anyone has some suggestions that would be great! Links below

On a serious note, that graphics card will definitely be a noticeable improvement over your integrated card, but it won't get you very far.
 
do you think I absolutely need a power supply i currently have a 250w and recommended for the new card is 300

At those prices Yes, can't go wrong. Plus going under the recommendations for power is always too iffy. It's will come back to bite you in the end.

The comeback to bite you is shorting out the entire system and frying your computer parts. So saving maybe $40 on a good PSU could end up costing you more than $200 in a dead CPU, RAM, HDD, motherboard....

Go with huckleberry's picks. They're good.

Side note: For GPUs, you should really be looking at those that are using at least GDDR4; preferably GDDR5. The one you originally picked out is GDDR3, which screams "low-performance" and "budget."
