Unable to talk in vent while playing AC3

Whenever I try to play Assassin's Creed 3 and talk in vent, I'm unable to talk. I always run vent as administrator, and it still wouldn't allow me to talk. I don't know what else to try. Any help is appreciated greatly.

Are any keys binded to your PTT key in vent?

Does it work with an open mic? Does it work with different keys?

I use numpad 1 as my PTT (naga, side keys). I've tried it with open mic and other keys and it refuses to work.

have u tried using any keys on your keyboard for PTT? it may sound like theres a confliction with ac3 on vent. however, not really quite sure why youd want to get on vent while playing a sp game, but hey its ur choice. im sure people have gotten together to play sp games while being on vent before. overall, sounds like an issue that they need to patch up on ac3.

Run ventrilo as administrator if you aren't already and you wont have a problem.

osu! steals my vent key and running vent as administrator fixes this issue

^This. Sometimes when I load up a game I know my vent key won't work, just run as admin and you should be fine.

sounds/communications/check the tab that saays (do nothing when windows detects 3rd party communications)

Assassin's Creed Games, in general, seem to have a issue with whenever you want to use Ventrilo as well. --Noted from experience with previous AC games

I've tried the Run as Administrator option (as well as several other options), but as far as I can tell, they pretty much butchered being able to use Ventrilo while playing the AC-games. =/

@astr0 - I've already done this a long time ago to combat games that lowered game sound.

Try under vent settings unclicking Direct input and clicking discard hotkey.
