I've reinstalled steam and tf2 a multitude of times, and its come to the point where every time I press play on tf2 it just validates files and even when its finished it either freezes or just goes to validating files again. Please help, tf2 is unplayable

Update - I know you've installed both Steam and TF2 more than once to attempt a fix but I did find this article that you might want to give a try. Steam file validation problem
It seems that everything I've been reading about this issue is that it relates to an update that was released in October of 2012. Some players have been able to right click on the game in their steam library and go to properties and defragment the game files and it fixes the issue for them. Others reinstalled the game and others have followed the link I provided above. None of these fixes are guaranteed to fix your problem as it has worked for some but not for all who experience this issue.
As a tech, I would suggest a few things relating to computer health. In no particular order I would defragment my hard drive and I would run a full check disk. To run check disk make sure to run a command prompt as administrator (if you are using Vista, Windows 7, etc.) and type "chkdsk /r" without quotation marks. You will see a message something along the lines of the file system is in use and will need to run at the next startup and wants you to answer Y or N. Obviously choose Y and restart your computer. Be absolutely sure you do not power your computer down or manually reboot it during this check disk. You need to let it finish the procedure or you risk harming your hard drive. Sometimes it can take a few hours (this depends on hardware, drive size, how much data is on it or how bad of shape the drive is in) but it will be worth it should you have any bad sectors that can be repaired. Let me know any new information you can provide after any attempts to resolve this issue.
