Tips on playing Vayne?

I am the worst Vayne player in the world! I am horrendous at her early game I cant poke anyone one!! but I take a lot of poke and end up dying lots / taking 0 poke but not getting any farm and ending up super under leveled by the 20 minute mark with no gold. Any help that would help me overcome this Everest of mine would be greatly appreciated. I would like to be able to play another ADC in ranked besides Graves

Runes are good. No need to change them. Masteries, I would take the health regen from the def tree, max out the armor and one in MR, and the last point in getting the extra 30 health. IMO, the little health regen doesn't really help you THAT much considering if you play as an ADC, you'd have your support that in half the cases has some healing skill or you would have pots to get it back. And early game extra 30 health is really nice.

Other times, start with shoes if you don't already. More mobility means you can more easily harass. General idea is to watch your own minions get low on health and see when your opponent gets close to last hit it, you move in and shoot them. With Vayne it's very easy using Tumble.

Another thing would be to see if you can just have a stand still with both teams more or less free farming until your jungler comes to gank. If the rest of your team is doing great it's okay, since overall your team would come out on top. Of course it would mean that their carry and sup are on the same level as you are. It's something to keep in mind though.

Item wise, Zerker shoes asap, 1-2 Doran's and Zeal to get more movement speed and attack speed for your Silver Bolts. If you lane with Nunu, you're in heaven with his Blood Lust.

Poking with Vayne is kinda hard, seeing how she has to attack to do any good damage. I used to play her quite a bit, and was decent with her but I have stopped to play another ADC.

If you can farm a good bit, late game shouldn't be too hard for you Vayne, that's where she does her best. I found maxing Silver Bolts makes for good pokes. Dealing 60 +8% true damage does more for poking than 50% AD.

Early game for Vayne is hard. She's quite squishy, lacking in good CC or escape and an easy target to get. I agree with everything said above, in Jawneh's post.

Here are the masteries I use for my ADC (Draven) and my runes (Draven), but I use them for any of my ADC champs.

I would suggest you read guides and watch others play Vayne. Don't read the guides to play like them, read them to find out other ways to play. Guides don't work 100% of the time. Same with watching games. Just watch to learn different ways to play.
