I just got home after being places for around three days and when I sat down in my chair and tried to talk to some people on skype, my mic didn't work. I tried to unplug, restart, update, everything, and I think I still managed to make it worse. I now have to unplug it because then I hear static in the headset itself (My headset has the pink and green 3.5 plug ins) I may have just managed to damage my pink 3.5 jack, but I don't think that's the case. Anyway, I think my headset is beyond repair, now I'm just using them as headphones until I get a headset with a working mic, and I want to know which ones you guys recommend.

Short story: mic in headset broke, need new headset.

I would prefer:
full ear coverage[must]
comfy[must]
sound canceling [not a priority]
good, clear mic[must]
not going to break easily[must]

I don't know if you guys know any off the top of your head, I was hoping for some under 80 bucks. The cheaper with the preferences, the better.

halp guiz.

These are the ones that I use, and they seem to cover all your basis. I have even thrown them on the floor before and nothing seems to be broken...yet. Turtlebeach PX21.

I have the Gamecon 777 version (feel free to Google mine). I got mine for a really good discounted price on ebay 1 day. Im not quite sure if those headsets have noise cancellation in them, but mine do & mine are def comfy. Besides, if I had to replace mine, then I would go with these because ive never had an issue with Plantronics.

Btw, one more thing. Just fyi, pink=mic and green=headphones.

Ok, what I'm recommending may seem a little expensive.. but I'll tell you something.. I've been through MANY headsets in my life.. this is the first one I decided to invest in over 40$.. I've been using this one for over a year now and I can tell you it's by far the best headset I ever put on my head. I can sit here for 8 hours of gaming without even feeling like I'm wearing a headset. the sound quality is bar none. The noise cancellation is right up there. If you want a to invest in a headset that will last a long time and perform great this is the one.

Ive got the Turtlebeach X12. They are great for me. Great sound cancelling which makes the gf mad. And they are pretty decent in price, 59.99 at Best Buy. 1,575 reviews on Amazon for 4.5/5 stars. And 63 Reviews on Turtlebeach for 4.5/5 Stars. They also work on the Xbox if you need that.

Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930

Logitech knows what i like. I don't have them yet, but that is something i recommend. Wireless headset, no more accidents when you forget to take them off, and the wire snaps them off your head xD

Also my stepdad just got them and i tried them out, you can't hear what people say around you, even with the sound off.

Plantronics Gamescom 780. 4.3/5 stars on Amazon, as well as the #1 Best Seller in the microphones section. I have a pair myself and I love them. Super comfy, very clear mic, noise cancelling is pretty good, they have full ear coverage (at least for me), and love the sound. It's also 40% off right now on Amazon.

Sennheiser PC360 gamer.

Fantastic sound for both music and gaming. Little pricey, but the best I have ever tried.

I knew this, but when I plug the pink into the pink it messes up the noise in the speakers. I have no idea how, but when I unplug the mic, the speakers dont get static anymore. I dunno.

I'm into these, and that they are so cheap on amazon right now. I think I might get them.

I have personally owned a pair of G930's for well over a year and a half now and they match all your qualifications I believe (not to mention they have 10 hours of wireless use!) but they are not super cheapo. But for what you are looking for those 780's look good especially for that price.

Went ahead and bought the 780's
