I like it a lot. I was recently thinking that the website could use a change considering it's been pretty much the same for as long I've been here (3 years in a few days)..
in addition to that, the new user rank graphic is dope. Now the "e" members ranking graphic doesn't look so tiny and weak.

The text is cool, maybe not the logo.
Im not really liking these logos next to our names though.
But still, kudos to whomever made these. You had the right idea, just a bit too futuristic.

I'm going to "that guy" and be the first to say I downright hate it. The font actually hurts my eyes, among other issues.

Yes, yes, but the logo didn't have a stripe going through, did it? Now it kinda ends at the margin.
Alright, I've decided to go through and use Photoshop to determine the different color codes that the banner and posts use with the new layout.
To me, the biggest issue is the amount of different blue colors that the layout has. As you will see in the following picture, 7 different color codes can be found just by looking at one post. That doesn't count anything that will be colored blue on the front page or anything in the footer.

Some of the codes in the picture are based off of where I picked the color from, meaning that in reality, there are different codes for different spots in the area where I grabbed the code from. A lot of the blue is in gradients, so not every spot will generate the same code. However, based off of that, you can see that 7 of the spots I chose right off the bat shows that they are all very different blues, giving off a really odd feeling when looking at it.
This is my perspective, but I also believe a lot of others have the same, but may not have been able to pinpoint why they don't like the layout. My suggestion would be to try sticking to a select scheme where the blue isn't constantly being altered. And like others have already suggested, maybe a bit more professional rather than cartoony font would be better.

This is sickening and unacceptable. The fact of the matter is it is offensive to state things like that. Stating "no offense..." does not exonerate you.
Criticism is perfectly fine and is expected. Posts like this have completely crossed the line into "rude" territory. Someone in eGO worked hard on this and you couldn't spend a few minutes adding some constructive criticism?
To everyone else:
These updates are being pushed out in chunks. There will be inconsistencies until it's all wrapped up. The changes are also not set in stone and will be improved based on the criticism received.

Thanks for the information. I hope someone takes a look at my post a few posts up and takes it into consideration when changes are being made.

@Noiz , Bro you are spot on in my opinion. I believe the top should be the most clean and professional part of the site. 3 different shades of blue doesn't give the "mature gaming Edge", the ranks a sick, but the top banner could use more refinement.
