That's something a non competitive person would say. Scrim teams are not like community's. You can be in a community and a scrim team at the same time. Scrim teams mostly don't have public servers so I don't see what the problem is if it ever came to it.
Besides, no one will recruit for source because the game is gonna be dead for competitive in a year tops.
Question: Couldn't someone make their own server and host 10mans but not abide by the eGO code of conduct?
You guys should make the switch to competitive GO. You probably wont find any scrims against other source teams as time goes on.

This was tried before but asked to stop because members of this community were found being disrespectful to others. They thought as long as they had their tags off, they were ok. If someone wants to make their own server and host 10mans, they and who ever chooses to play there can deal with the consequences when that kind of thing happens.
At this point, we are not looking to find scrims against other source teams. This server is merely a place for members to scrim against each other. We have a large enough community to host inter-community scrims at a competitive and enjoyable level.
This would draw attention away from eGO's main server lineup. As it stands right now, we have servers that require our members attention right now. If you owned 4 servers and 2 were struggling, would you open up and market a fifth one? No, it wouldn't be logical. The point here is our community needs to put the main servers before 10mans.

I agree with fps on this completely. We have some servers that can struggle but they are starting to pick up a little but still need people to keeping the population up on them. Highschool is starting to get populated so if we focus on highschool and Dust 2 Deathmatch all the servers would be doing great but we would still need to watch them.
I would like to see some automatic scrim plugin but that won't happen until all of our servers are full and maybe it could happen. I would still prefare a proper host and not a robot host but if we could have all servers filled then it might have a small chance. Right now I wouldn't even consider it because the GO server is mostly empty and D2DM and Highschool are sommetimes empty but they have picked up.

Agreed. Our priority is still to fill the regular eGO servers. This 10man server is just an EXTRA. Something for 10 eGO member to go at it with. We won't be adding any pug plugins in the near future due to the fact that this server is only being approved by eGO on a trial basis as a recreational source. Like we have said before, we have not had any major problems as of yet, but our current system of having limited hosts is the only way we can be confident that the participants will hold true to eGO standards.

Well, this is sort of the reason why we have the 10man server. It offers that competitive atmosphere for members. At this point, we aren't out to create a team to compete in leagues (if there are any left for Source). Maybe if we can generate a solid player base with CS:GO, eGO can dip into the league side of things, but we have to get our GO servers popular first.

I thought it was a given that we have fun just playing Counter-strike alone. I'll try to be more specific next time so that you are not confused. To clarify: From a player point-of-view, your first priority should always be "to have fun," that is the whole reason we purchased the games we play.
The priority comment is in reference for people who may think we should only focus on how many scrims we can cram into a today. By no means do we want to have our 10man server pull from the other eGO servers - they come first. In that sense, filling the regular eGO servers will still be our first priority. I am speaking from the point of view of myself and fps who organized this server.
I'm surprised by how many people have a problem with this concept. I didn't think that this PSA would draw so much discussion, or that this much discussion would be needed for comprehension. It seemed pretty straight forward to inform people that we are offering a server for people to play on occasionally as an outlet to let out some of our competitive steam. We are not discouraging people from participating, we just do not want to draw from our current server rankings.

If playing in servers to help fill them is not fun for you, maybe you should be thinking about other things to do with your time. Most of this thread is silly. This thread was posted for how you should be acting while using this scrim server. If you dont like these rules, please feel free to play elsewhere.
