mousepad vs. none

I don't use a mousepad while gaming...or on my computer at all. i am playing with a wireless one which isn't as well as playing wired does the mousepad make a difference also? or does it not matter my mouse sits on a wood (plywood with fake wood wrap) surface.

My desk is my mousepad. It's great not being limited to one little square section lol

A good mouse pad is essential! Especially for laser mice. It makes a huge difference in the responsiveness of the laser.


It also prevents wear and tear to occur on the bottom side of the mouse.

For the more aggressive gamer, it also prevents wear and tear of the surface you game on xP

A friend of mine used to say the same thing. "My desk is just fine i don't need a mouse pad!". Then his mouses feet wore off and he was dying to get a mouse pad. He says he can feel the difference between with a mousepad and a desk.

And my XL they really mean XL. Mines at least a 1.5Ft x 1.5Ft square.

Unfortunately they don't make them anymore and they are very hard to find for a decent price usually.

I use a DKT pad. Half the size of my desk and is extremely durable. I pulled 80hrs~ a week gaming back in highschool. It hasn't really frayed and it lasting. Plus it's washable!

call me lame, or what ever, but I can't justify spending 30-50 bucks on a mousepad... i have a hard enough time spending 50bucks on a video card. ....that's why i don't have one...

It's all about preference, the price point of items that is. I personally understood that I will be doing this for quite some time, so I invested in my hobby. It's like anything else, if you invest money into hobbies and such, video-games are no exception.

Wow those steel mouse pads are interesting. I use one made out of fabrics they use for jeans. Makes it easy to get them washed in the washing machine, but if I ever get my hands on those steel/glass mouse pads I suppose I can use Windex to clean it.

Mouse + Mousepad = More lifetime

I spend 5$ on mine, lol. Works fine. Rather spend 10$ to make my mouse stay INTACT longer.

Haha you weren't joking when you said they were hard to find... you got me sold when I read "clean". I got to rush out of the house but when I get the chance I'll probably keep looking.

I've seen them pop up on ebay from time to time but there gone pretty quick. Craigslist is a possibility too.
