Can't connect to internet without static IP

Slightly wrong description, but it is my situation.

Basically, I was setting a static IP adress on my computer because I had to open some ports on my router to allow GFWL to work (It didn't help) but now, I can't switch back to having an IP address assigned automatically from the routers DHCP server without losing my internet.

Although Windows tells me I'm connected to the internet and that everything is fine and dandy, nothing works, except sending pings.

I even tried resetting my pc back a week to no avail.

I don't know what to do anymore...

Forgot to add that my PC do get an address from my router (192.168.1.105), and the router tells me I'm connected to it, but no internets. >:

Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
DNS servers are all fine and dandy
The static IP I use is 192.168.1.103, DHCP server assigns addresses from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149

If you have already tried turning off all computers and network devices on your network, and then rebooting them from the router to the computer 1 at a time, you might try resetting your tcpip protocol.

Click Start and then click Run. Copy and paste (or type) the following command in the Open box and then press ENTER:
cmd

At the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:
netsh int ip reset c:resetlog.txt

Note If you do not want to specify a directory path for the log file, use the following command:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

Reboot the computer.

Use this command at your own risk. I have never had any problems with it, personally, but it has caused minor network problems for others. If you still have no luck, you might consider asking your ISP how your computers are assigned IP's by your router. To my knowledge, certain ISP's do not allow DHCP for all customers.

Forgot to mention that I've already tried that command, but didn't change anything.
And I can't turn off every device connected to the router, since my brother would get mad as hell if I were to touch his computer.

Also, the router is a Linksys WRT54GL connected to a modem provided by my ISP. The modem is in bridge mode, so it doesn't do anything on the local side.

Not much point in troubleshooting further until you are able to conduct a full reboot of your network. This is most likely what is causing your problems.

Yeah. Dont worry about your brother. He will be more PO'd that he wont have internet. Just shut it down for 5 minutes and re-boot it, making sure none of his stuff was lost when you restarted the computer. Anywho.

I had this issue before. I had to revert back to default router settings and go back through the entire router setup before I could get internet. I did that and it worked fine.
 
Funny thing. Although a reset of the router and disconnecting other network devices changed no options, it fixed my little problem. Thanks for the help guys!
