I am still a new member but play as frequently as I can.

I work for the railroad. I am on call 24/7:facewall: ...and when I am not sleeping or dragging my laptop to a hotel with crap WiFi I try to be on. I feel almost guilty joining eGo when I can only contribute when it is only convenient for me, specially the DOD:S division.

Anyone else in a demanding job?

Yeah, I try to contribute as much as I can, but I work 12 hour night shifts and lose every other weekend. Dont feel bad aout joining eGO, just contribute when you can cause we'll always be around.

My job is demanding from about Feb to April 15. That's about it, but during that time I can work anywhere from 60-100+ hours per week. Most of the rest of the year is 40 hours.

I have a pretty demanding job as well and I have 3 kids. Two of them being 12 week twins. I don't get to play very often, but the great thing about eGO is that everyone understands real life comes first. :)

Don't worry about when you are on, just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Swayne is right on point. I also have a demanding job except for the slow season for chips. From mid March to September (this year, it'll get worse as senority raises) I probably won't be on that much. I drive and unload a semi and my hours aren't anything like an ordinary job. 14 hour days, with ten hours in between runs until I reach 70 hours. Take a 34 hour break and then do it all over again until a holiday or vacation comes around. On top of that crazy schedule I attend college and am married with a CRAZY (good crazy) three year old.

I'm an IT manager mainly doing sys admin work for 3 casinos plus another property. My work never ends. You fit in what you can. Just remember to have fun and cherish the time you get to play. :)

While I am currently unemployed, I have a full time schedule of classes and projects [5 courses + a satellite-building competition + a badly-managed social life].
So I usually go online late at night, or early morning for an hour or so.

Like what many have said here(probably in other threads): Real Life comes before Gaming life :)
So don't worry about it. Log on when you can/want, have fun, and the rest will happen naturally.

I wouldn't really say that I have a demanding job as I work for a telecommunications company however the hours are tricky. I work from 1 to 9pm.. then usually go to the gym.. and I have a wife who HATES! video games or me gaming at all lol... so that does take up alot of my time and sometimes I only end up being able to play an hour here and there. I will have been a part of this community for 4 years this coming June. Sometimes I have not been able to play for weeks at a time. The great thing about this community though is that they understand real life takes priority. Leadership and members alike value any contribution however little it may be as it keeps our community active and moving forward.

Happy hunting!

I work the regular 40 hours a week, monday to friday 8am to 5pm (really 6am to 6:30pm with commute time) I hope on and play when I can. I just try to say hi and be as friendly as I can when I'm around to both members and pub players on our server. I figured eGO was a great place to fit in because you have the weekend warriors and the die hard players still. Everyone seems to be here for the same reasons, to play in a friendly environment with broad gaming selections since eGO covers just about everything. I'm sure nobody minds you committing the time you can, after all, it's just a game!

That being said, railroad on call 24/7 must be pretty hectic, I hope you still have time to enjoy the real world too outside of gaming.

Two of them being 12 week twins!
Just wait until they get older. You will have both of them running in opposite directions which makes it fun to catch up to them. Plus they encourage each other.

I know what I'm talking about too. I am a twin.

Working in brewery usually the regular 40h/week. Although summer is more hectic. Can get to even 60h/week. I do not even know how i still manage to play quite lot, and still keep my girlfriend happy and my cat active. (not to mention some guitarplaying too. :) )

i work 30 to 40 hours a week a pretty good social life when i want to go out and a fiance that takes up a lot of my time but my days i can't leave town to see my girl (she lives on a campus) i'm sitting at my computer shooting people.

It's not the quantity of your presence, but the quality. Main thing to remember is have fun. Get in vent when you can, read the forums as much as you can. Just participate, doesn't matter if it is an hour a week or 10.
