Hey,

I've ran across a pretty annoying thing with my internet connection. I keep losing my DNS and have to use ipconfig /renew almost all the time to get even some access to internet. Although Steam works like a charm. What could cause the problem?

Running windows 7 and have non-wireless connection.

Are you using the DNS your ISP provides? Or another third party DNS, personally I use google's DNS I recommend you to try it out and see if your problem persists. See: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

If your problem does persist it is possible you are infected with malware. we'll go down that road once we get to it.
