For whatever reason, I am unable to fully enjoy steam.

Things I can not do:
Trade
Post announcements
See my items in my inventory

Things I have tried:
Reinstall steam.
Completely uninstall all adobe flash players.
Deleted all the crap in IE.

:/

Any ideas? I'm going bananas. :facewall:

This is what I get for everything and I have had someone else sign into my Steam account to ensure that it was my PC.

Contact Gaben.

Joke aside, that looks really weird, never seen or heard of something like this o.o. I have no idea what to do either... You can try to go into profile and switch access to who can and can't see your items but other than that, nooooo idea. Contact support.

Maybe its because for some people, steam servers crash. Not allowing you to access your inventory and things. It happens. Unless this has been going on for more then 3 days I wouldnt worry too much. If its been longer then I suggest contacting steam support directly.

Are you able to view your inventory normally in a browser? (chrome, ff, whatever you use)
If yes, please attempt the following.(close steam before doing this)
  • Navigate to your steam directory (Normally this is C:\Program Files (x86\Steam)
  • Delete everything but the steamapps folder and the steam.exe file(Also your skins folder if you're using a custom skin, but it doesn't look like you are)
  • Launch steam.exe

If your problem persists after you have followed those steps please reply here.

My best guess would be a blocked port in your firewall, either software or hardware (router/modem, etc). Otherwise it would appear to be on Steam's end.

I'm going to have to agree with Blue Stealth here, as your firewall is probably wrecking havoc with your Steam client. If truly believe that it is Steam's fault, shoot Steam support a message, they are REALLY helpful.

That didn't work, thank you though. Yes, I gotta use Google Chrome to do those things. :cursing:

The only firewall I have is the windows 7 default one.

I know my ISP offers a firewall because I've opened ports on it for other stuff, should I open it up for Steam too? I thought that was just when you had like in-game problems so I've never bothered. It USED to work then one day, I noticed it stopped working.

I appreciate your response but I'd like to keep my problems here on our website. If no one can help me solve it on here then I'll just use Google Chrome, at least it works.

Fixed, what the hell.

I had the option "Filter Popup Windows" checked on my firewall from my ISP, and once I unchecked it, I can see the items.

Locked, thanks blue for the solution and everyone else for helping.
